Like the Ducks. I was going to make a further comment in your thread last night but got caught up in the NBA. Road favorites seem to win at an unusually high rate in hockey. Furthermore it seems that hockey is one of the least bet sports of all the major pro associations, and as such sometimes the lines are inflated, specifically the home favorites. I often see teams mired in a losing streak and not playing well favored very highly just because they are at home, such as the Avs were last night.

These are plays I try and stay away from, my thought process is that the books put a huge price tag on the home teams at times that are just not warranted, trying to make people believe they have a better chance to win the game. It seems that home ice is not that big of a factor compared to say the NFL, but with certain teams it is, ie. the Flames. Anyways just some thoughts that I was thinking about last night when I saw your play on Colorado, and even though I am sure you wouldn't let someone talk you out of a play I should of taken the time to give you my .02 last night. Good Luck tonight with your plays.

ats - thanks for the comments. my puck plays are partly based on strong head to head matchup trends as well as team's current form. hence, it was hard for me to pass up the Avs last night even tho they havent been playing too well as of late. The trends that stood out to me was that the Blue Jakcets were 1-20-1 in the last 22 meetings as well as 0-10 in the last 10 meetings in Colorado. With strong trends like that I did not think -200 was all that high of a price. I basically try and pick my spots. It was basically the same capping that made me play that Panthers at +160 against the Pens last night. Past trends did not warrant the Pens to be favored by that much. So I took a chance with a nice priced dog. It worked out for me. I know I wont win everything but if I can win close to everything I'll take it.
