Hawkeye,
I'm not from Florida but I am researching the matchups. Might have some picks on Thursday. We should have swept the Colorado games!

Where are you getting those lines?

I would love some action on Lakeland

Watch out for Lakeland. Chris Rainey may have been suspended for the championship game (the kid had about 320 yds on about 20 carries last game) for supposedly taking money/gifts from admirers.

The Dreadnaughts have a ton of other skill players, but Rainey is w/o a doubt the focalpoint of the team. The local mulletrapper is keeping an update on his playing status:

Also, STAquinas is consistently the class of south Florida.

I'd consider taking Glades Central. Good luck either way.

Hawkeye:
USA Today Rankings:
Lakeland-#4(Should be #2 @ least)
Miami NW -#7
STA- #19

I've been to most of STA games over the last 7 years. Lakeland & STA are meeting for the third straight year in the 5A finals. Lake land has won the last 2 years. Soon as I find out if STA starting QB Carroll is playing, I will let you know. He has a shoulder injury & did not play last week. If it wasn't for the questionable status of Lakeland running backl Rainey, Lakeland - pts. would be the way to go . With him they win by 20 pts. or more, sad to say.

Best dog play of the 3 would be Glades + the pts.
Miami NW should win & cover.

Back if I find out more about Rainey & Carroll.

As usual, great job by you with your college totals.

As of NOW, both Rainey & Carroll are playing.
Going to be very windy @ Pro Player, That should favor Lakeland. However, their practices & preparation have been disrupted this week with this Rainey crap. FWIW:shrug:

The Glades game is @ 1pm today. I'll try to give scoring updates. Back later.

With Rainey playing I like Lakeland -14. They have handled Aquinas the last two years and it shouldn't change this year.

I'd leave the Saturday night game alone until Easterling's status is clear. News Story I wonder if the girl took Lake Brantley and the points?

Have to think about the Rainey situation this way:

Kid possibly got himself into some trouble. Maybe even the school. The school is going to start him knowing that if the higher powers deem necessary, they will have to forfeit the championship should they win. Rainey will be shooting for one last helluva high school game. This could get ugly.

This sounds pathetic, I know, but could anyone post scores for the Dreadnaught game? I was listening online to the pregame show and they cut it off. Something about FHSAA rules will not allow them to stream in online. I can pay $7.50, but sheesh, that's half of what I would pay a month to listen to all of the college hoops games.

TIA

Just got back from the game & Drew you were right. Rainey had a hell of a game. STA scored 35 pts. in the 4th. qtr. including 3 tds in the last 2.5 minutes to send game to OT.
With Lakeland leading 45-42 St. Thomas went for the win on 4th. down from the 1 yd. line and got stopped inches short. A Classic finish to a state title game.
