I finally made it up to Boston for business last week. What a great city!

Things that we accomplished when not visiting clients:
1. Union Oyster House
2. Holocaust Memorial (impressive)
3. Legal Seafood (beantownjim)
4. UMass campus in Amherst
5. Marblehead -- saw Spirit of '76 painting (very impressive) in their town hall. Also saw their town charter from 1684!!!!
6. Celtics miss the chance to take the Grizzlies to overtime
7. Rode the T which seemed decently efficient (comparing it to Atlanta's awful MARTA system)
8. Learned why you always hear about "Cups of Chowda" and not "Bowls of Chowda". A cup is ALL you need!
9. Learned that Boston refers to BBQ in the same INCORRECT way as California does. It is called a GRILL, fellas. BBQ is completely different thing.
10. And when a cold front comes in, it gets WICKED cold!

Overall, seemed like a very clean city when taking the age into consideration. Once we got used to the small signs, the Big Dig seems like a great piece of engineering. Heard from many, though, that some corners that were cut are coming back to haunt them.

This would be a great weekend trip to take your girlfriends or wives on during XMas season.

next time you are there, if it is from april to oct, take a ride to plymouth.visit the plantation, see in person how our country started.. then, go on a whale watch, see humbacks breach 40 feet out of the water !!! when you return to the dock, walk 3 blocks to my old office and tell them how great it is to live in the south !!!!!!!

you could probably never go wrong with legal seafood, but there are plenty of places better for half the money. Turner Fisheries in the copley Weston . Skipjacks is also awesome. There is a small place down on the Fish wharf that has been open since 1700s called the no name restaurant. Dawg, to bad you didn't walk the freedom trail, get to Lexington/Concord or bunker Hill. Or the North end, which is the New York City Little Italy. Boston has more museums & galleries than any city in America except New York.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I will say that I was very impressed with Boston and will be back for leisure time.

This trip was actually only a 3 day business trip, so I was stoked for getting this much in.

shamrock -- i didn't do the Freedom Trail per se, but I did walk about two miles of the red brick trail sightseeing.

Legal was very good. It certainly wasn't cost-efficient, but I don't think it was too expensive for the quality of the food. The Somellier also gave us a little tour of their cellar which was very nice.

And I didn't get extra limes! (but I wasn't drinking beer, either).
