I have seen in the last few posts, a couple of people mention newsletters that they subscribe to. I agree with Selkirk about most of them being schills (drawing more similarities between investing and sports gambling).

Just wanted to know if anyone else subscribes to financial newsletters that they would like to share.

I subscribe to two from Motley Fool.

Hidden Gems and Stock Advisor

I think they are both well worth the $140/$150 per year.

Anyone else?

Anyone have feedback on these that they would like to share?

I read Motley Fool religiously online Dawg.

Only publication I have had for about 15 years running is not actually an investment publication but is full of articles concerning investing. It is a very non biased publication and has 0 advertising in it.

It's called Board Room Reports/Bottom line--Ever hear of it?

I value my Morningstar.com and BusinessWeek subscriptions tremendously.

Ditto this.

I still have all of my son's (2 1/2 years old) money with a friend at Edward Jones. It is sitting in two American Funds.

Most of mine and my wife's money is currently handled by him, too.

What I have been doing over the past 3 years more seriously is looking to educate myself to manage it. Currently, I put 20% of my investment capital and put it in a separate account for more active trading.

My hope is that over the course of time, I will become more educated and confident in my abilities to do it on my own for my family.

DTB -- I also read a ton of stuff on their fool.com. I have been subscribing to these two newsletters to try them out. I think their well worth what they charge for them, but that's a meger opinion.

Hope not to start a war. Here is what I stay away from. WSJ, BW. I truly believe they are just part of the gang that sticks together out east and you can do better with.The Fool, American Association Individual Investors. Even Crammer can be of help. Not always his picks but his lessons on what to watch for. I like Kiplinger's magazine. In Any case all I can tell you young guys is. Get started and put as much in to your investing you can. Do not wait. And always have some just alittle safer then the rest.

Cramer mentions a stock and it pops 15%.. Alot of the action you cannot get in on because its after hours trading etc, but often you can get the tail end of it and make a quick 5% or so...
