Cornhunka-
Where are you staying? Whatever you do....get out of the "NEW" part of town (that where most of the premiere Hotels are).......Old town has a lot of character and is a lot of fun. Couple of memorable bars I remember are "The Zoo" "Carlos O'Briens".......you will probably be inundadted with junket offers, take advantage of them if they offer free lunch and tickets to bullfight, etc. I wasn't a big fan of the bullfights.......thought it was pretty inhumane.......actually was rooting for the Bull to maul the guys with swords......:142smilie I can't remember the name of that Fishing Village (but it is south) and the whole cost was pretty reasonable (included all you could drink, horseback ride and the waterfall)......I was pretty drunk, and felt sorry for the skeleton horses, so I walked most of it, which wasn't easy as it was a good stretch uphill".........look into renting a jeep and driving into the jungle...that was pretty neat, but they had a lot of problems with the banditos robbing tourists, so we went in the middle of the day!..........Marlin fishing was pretty cheap (never caught one though).........I know there is a sportsbook there.....Caliente I think? Check out the pharmacias in old town (you can pretty much get whatever you want).....my ex, bought some cough syrup that was loaded with Codeine......she was coughing in the middle of the night, and when I woke up, she had drank 3/4 of the bottle:mj07: The next day was hilarious as she was stumbling around on the beach, running into crap, we had no idea that the codeine was in the bottle, wish I would've left her there:scared Some pretty neat stuff in old town, and from what I understand, you can get the best prices on you American currency in old town.......When I was there we saved 3 pesos on the dollar by converting it in Old Town. Fish Tacos can be bought at any Taco Stand, even at 3:00 a.m. which helps the hangover to fill your belly up. Restaurants in old town are cheaper, and better food! Have a ball! Stwoody
