+13.8 units to date: Halftime totals have been a killer for me...........kinda like during the season..

Going to start a new thread......so I don't have to wade through all those old posts-

Recap of plays still alive:

Bowl Plays:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope I have a better Bowl Season than I had in College Foots as a whole...........things to remember when you cap these games are:

1. Location...........how many external factors might effect a team that has played a long season and now just wants to have a little fun, or what forms of entertainment are available to the players. Also weather can play a factor! (Ie: Miami going to Boise????......I was actually shocked they accepted a bid to play on the Smurph Turf, If it snows there will be a decided advantage for Nevada Wolfpack)...Hawaii comes to play in front of their home crowds.......ASU might be looking foward to the MAi TAIs and not the game.

2. Coachs- Watch out for the Lame Duck Coaches and Coachs that want to pad the resume for future positions in the off-season. Also, take a look how well these coachs have performed in their past bowl attempts to give you a little insight as to their overall preparation for the game. Some just want to reward their players with a vacation, and this will rub off on the players.

3. Always beneficial to look at mid-majors that are given the chance to up-end a major program on national television. Bowl games represent a chance for some of these programs to show prospective recruits what they have to look forward to and why they should pick their program. Many of the upper Div 1 teams simply don't care as much!

4. Dissapointment! Every year we see teams that should throttle their opponent on paper, but fail to show up for the game as they are harboring thoughts of what "coulda" been. Even the best motivator coachs are fighting an uphill battle when a team feels it has been slighted.......

With that said, my plays thus far are:

1. Hawaii -8 (5 units)....WINNA........ASU may be in for a long day.....and the fact that many of these kids will not be with family on Christmas and Rainbow Warriors should win this by double digits!

2. Nevada (+3) (5 units). WINNA.....I'm hoping to get more points in this one and will definately play the ML when that happens. I will be praying for snow too!

3. BYU -5 (5 units)....WINNA........again, I don't see a lot of motivation for this Duck squad, and being in Vegas makes it that much more doubtful.

4. South Florida -3 (5 units)....WINNA.....I made the mistake of calling this program a "solid" team, early in the season when the Rutgers-Pitt debate was going on..... one of the members here informed me that wasn't the case, "South FLorida is certainly not solid"......but the Bulls did manage an 8-4 season, upending W. Virginia and Pitt along the way.......so I will stick with my thoughts and call them solid!

5. Rutgers -7 (5 units)...WINNA........I expect this team to roll Wildcats.........and to put an exclamation point on their season

6. Missouri +3' (7 units)..WINNA.....I truly believe that the Tigers will win this game and feel the wrong team is favored.

7. Boise St +8 (5 units)...WINNA....kudos to Stoops and Sooners for accomplishing a great season without Peterson, but Boise St. loves to play up and relishes the roll of the underdog...Zabransky and Co. will give Sooners all they can handle! Sooners will get their best effort here.

Good Luck!

Morris you are correct...........number 1 rushing offense in the nation..........but, of course those numbers are skewed by their schedule, and the fact that the Triple Option is tough to defend when you only have a week to prepare. Of course BC has much more time than that, and is much more physcial and athletic........but, Navy won't be in North Carolina to party it up, and the loss of Head Coach O'Brien (left for State (NC)) and I don't know how much motivation Eagles will have. I was waiting to grab 7 and got it.........couldn't pass up this value, for a program that shows consistently they will play their ass off!

Good Luck!

I remember that vaunted '85 Chicago Bears, or was it the '06 Army defense that stopped them cold ?? Cost me 7 units, I believe.

Yeah.........I'll probably feel foolish, but that one went over my head also!

Vegas Baby !!
My reference was that NAVY made the 108th ranked defense look like the 85 Bears for one afternoon !!

The 108th ranked Army defense, held NAVY to 264 rushing yards on DEC 2nd. Navy only completed 1 pass the entire game, with 2 sacks, in 6 attempts.

The leading rusher for Navy had 67 yards !! The midshipmen were held to 14 points through 3 quarters.

It was a game that many fine cappers were on, only to get PHUKKED by a backdoor cover with 2 seconds to play !!

I remember it well !!

Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread woody !! Carry on with the WINNA's !!!

Nice bowl season ! Keep it going !!!

Adding:

5 more units to Nevada +3.5....WINNA

3 units UNDER 42 WINNA Miami/Nevada

Plain and simple..................I have no confidence in this Miami team. I see a lot of people talking about how much this team is superiorly athletic....blah, blah, blah.(if this is what you are basing your capping on, I suggest a closer look at Boston College in their bowl game)..but this team has been a disgrace, and the University should've bowed out of playing in a bowl this year. I have no idea why they decided to accept the invitation. A program that is used to playing in the national spotlight...........relegated to Boise Idaho......I think the turmoil experienced this year is going to bite them in the ass in a big way! Coker will be on the sideline which can't help (I don't see this team wanting to make a statement for him) and the Offensive Coordinator left for ASU (this is a bright spot for Canes).......the program is in disarray and now your going to have them travel to Boise, where it will be colder than a witches tit...........not a place for a warm weather team. Wolfpack has played some good defense as of late..........and has held some decent pass happy offenses to 190 ypg (1st in WAC, 45th Nationally)......I don't fear Canes passing game, and I think the cold will result in a already sluggish offense. Hence, the Under 42 Game temps expected to be in 30's and dropping. Pack are a cold weather team, so this only helps their cause....................I will be making a play on the ML closer to gametime as I wouldn't be surprised to see a total collapse by the Canes; who may be looking more to the New Years libations than to the Smurph Turf........................Good Luck:SIB

Add:

ML play (+145)
Wolfpack.LOSER..3 units

Under 43 (4 units).WINNA...Miami/Wolfpack

1st Half Under 21.5 LOSER:com: (3 units)

MPC COMPUTER BOWL is going to be very cold this evening. Everything I read is Miami complaining because of the "temperature"........1/2 of these players have never seen snow before.........I think we will see a sluggish offense tonight from the Hurricanes.........status quo for what it has been all season. Blue Smurph Turf can be an illusion..........making it (look) colder than it actually is! If Wolfpack can stop the run, this play should be safe. May have a good 1/2 time angle tonight........Good Luck and Have a Safe New Year!

RE-CAP MPC COMPUTER BOWL......

Game was played very well, and I give kudos to Canes for showing up at all. They played hard.......not sure they deserved the win......but all that matters is the final score. This Lowe kid is a real gamer; he is strong, fast, tough, and makes great decisions. He should do well at the Combines. His senior leadership really showed, and his compliments wanted to play hard for him Too bad about the dropped ball...........this couldv'e been the difference in a Wolfpack win.

All in All............a very competitive game......I enjoyed watching it! Happy my wagers came in! Good Luck the rest of the way!!
