Talk about a fuvked up family :scared

David Von Erich

David died on February 10, 1984. Theories about what caused his death have circulated for years. The Von Erich's claimed that David's death was a heart attack caused by ruptured intestines, which resulted from acute enteritis. Others have speculated that David died of a drug overdose and use (Ric Flair mentions this speculation in his autobiography and claims that the Von Erich's long-time friend Bruiser Brody removed the evidence).

Mike Von Erich

A few days before his death, Mike was arrested on drunk driving and drug charges. On April 12, 1987, he left a suicide note for his family, wrapped himself in a sleeping bag, then committed suicide by overdosing on the tranquilizer Placidyl. He was 23 years old.

Chris Von Erich

Frustrated and depressed over the deaths of his brothers (Mike in particular, whom he idolized) along with his inability to excel in the wrestling business, Chris shot himself in the head on September 12, 1991 at the age of 21.

Kerry Von Erich

Kerry's history of drug problems covered most of the 1980's. He was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 1983 after U.S. Customs agents, during a routine inspection, caught him with 18 unmarked tablets in his right front pocket. Inside the crotch of his pants was a plastic bag containing an assortment of nearly 300 other pills (including codeine, diazepam, Librium, and possibly Percodan), ten grams of marijuana, and 6.5 grams of "blue and white powder". Eighteen months later the charges were dropped by the Tarrant County district attorney.

Drugs were also a factor in his motorcycle crash in 1986 that cost him his right foot as it is believed he was under the influence at the time of the crash.

In February 1992, Kerry was arrested for forging a prescription. In October, he was sentenced to a $6000 fine and 10 years of probation.

On February 17, 1993, Kerry was arrested at an apartment complex in Irving, Texas, for possession of cocaine. Fearing a prison sentence for violating his probation, Kerry shot himself in the chest the next day and died. He used a .44 caliber pistol, which he had given to his father for Christmas the year before.

He was the third brother in the Von Erich family to have committed suicide (Mike in 1987 and Chris in 1991).

here is a list w/ cause of heath..

take a look at home many died of an overdose and or heart failure/attack..

scarey as hell...wonder if some baseball players will meet the same fate?

i would say that most of these wrestlers start with these drugs to mask some pain they are in and then it just builds up to an addiction. Not sure baseball players are in that much pain. Maybe a broken finger nail or two.

Miss Elizabeth is dead?? How sad.

I guess from this huge list you can surmise that life in the professional wrestling arena is tough. :com:

all the gallons of steroids these muscle heads pumped into their bodies helped them to the afterworld?

makes you wonder how hulk hogan lives on. I think its more drugs than steriods. Or maybe a combination. These guys basically work everyday and man it has to take a toll on your body. I think being hurt is also frown upon. If its steriods than Scotty Stiener heart should be ready to explode any minute. I think its more drugs.

That's something about the Von Erichs. I grew up watching them. First it was Fritz(the father), I swear he wrestled at least into his 60's. I never knew about Kerry, he was my favorite as a kid but I thought he died a lot earlier than that.

This family was truely cursed. 5 of their 6 sons died early. The oldest son was only 6 years old when he was electrocuted in the bath. Kevin, I believe, is the only one still alive. I can't imagine how it feels to be their parent.

Long live the "Iron Claw"
