I live in Normal/Bloomington about 2 hours southwest of Chicago and we got about an inch or so. Not much wind but still snowing:SIB. I played the Bears yesterday at -2.5 hoping for snow and got my wish. So excited called my brother( wasn't to happy got home about an hour ago from hittin the town) this morning so see what the weather is in Chicago. About the same but said it felt colder than yesterday with some wind.

I had espn on and heard the Saints stayed in N.O. all week and did some research and found out they didn't get here until Saturday:scared . I don't know what Payton is thinking. He is from Chicago. I don't care what type of adrenaline you have for a big game staying in N.O. was a mistake.

Although it shouldn't be snowing much before game time per the weather channel, I think just those two things with snow and the Saints not acclimated help out the Bears big time. Add in with mostly a majority on the Saints I like the Bears. Also the Bears defense got ripped all week for giving up so much yards to Alexander. From reports I hear they have been taking it personal. I didn't hear Urlacher's name that much last week. Come on Rivera send some blitz packages at them. Drew will pick apart the secondary just like Hasselback did if they don't get some pressure. Losing Mike Brown hurts the Bears big time.

One other thing the Bears put in new sod during their bye week. It wasn't sloppy last week but I think with the snow it might not hold up as well. Another note the McCaskeys(not Virgina) are such a-holes they wanted the Chicago parks to pay for the new sod since their contract with them was up at the end of the year. They wonder why people hate them.

Good luck and I took my Dad, sister and boyfriend, other brother and wife, two cousins from Chicago going to Ill St, sprinkle in 5 kids out to eat last night. Picked up the bill for $270 all the while fighting with Dad for the check. He made me a deal that if I got the check he would give me half of his future bet he made on the Bears to win SB at 12-1 when he was golfing in Vegas last spring. SO come on Bears...

Will update with more weather info from my brother as we get closer to gametime.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR

What bettors need to
know: Saints at Bears

The Saints play in a domed stadium, but they did cover the spread in six of seven games played outdoors this season. They also have a QB that is familiar with playing in cold weather.

Weather

There is a 90 percent chance of snow in Chicago on Sunday, according to weather forecasts.

Steady snow is expected to start falling in the morning, and by the afternoon it is likely to slow to snow showers. As much as two inches of snow is expected to fall.

Winds are likely to travel east-southeast between five and 10 mph, and kickoff temperature is expected to be 31 degrees Fahrenheit.

Brees accustomed to cold weather

Saints coach Sean Payton says his offense can operate just fine in cold weather, even if it snows in Chicago on Sunday.

The main reason he?s so optimistic is the fact New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees has a lot of experience playing in cold weather from his days at Purdue.

?We have a quarterback who played in the Big Ten and understands the conditions,? Payton told reporters.

Brees led the Saints offense which was the most productive in the NFL during the regular season and led the NFL in passing yards with 4,424.

On Sunday, he faces a Bears pass defense that gave up 195.4 passing yards a game in the regular season (11th best in the league).

Grossman redeems himself

Rex Grossman was among the most highly scrutinized quarterbacks in football this season, but he redeemed himself last week by having one of the best games of his career in a win over Seattle.

Grossman went 21-of-38 passing for 282 yards, one touchdown and one interception and used his arm to set up the game-winning field goal in overtime. He looked confident in the pocket and barely resembled the quarterback that threw three picks against the Packers in Week 17.

Against the Saints, Grossman faces a pass defense that allowed 178.4 passing yards per game in the regular season (third best in the NFL).

Horn returns to practice

The Saints could add a weapon to their passing attack in the NFC championship game.

Veteran receiver Joe Horn, a four-time Pro Bowler, returned to practice on Wednesday and reportedly looked comfortable running in a number of team drills.

?I felt like I was running pretty good today,? Horn told reporters. ?I have to show coach Payton that I can go. He wants badly for me to play, but I have to show that I?m ready.?

Horn missed the Saints last five games due to a partially torn groin and before Wednesday, hadn?t practiced with the club since Jan. 8. He is listed as questionable for Sunday.

Ray-Brees did play at Purdue but has played his pro at SD and N.O. I still think it is a mistake not coming in until Saturday. Like I said before there will be adrenaline but what happens when that starts to wear off. I will take the home team with the so called home weather advantage.

c02916- I wish I was going. I haven't been to a game in 5 years. I was at the game when number 34 broke the rushing and have the stub in a nice frame. I like your prop. I don't think N.O. tries a FG any further than that but the Bears might try one with the wind. Now making one is a different story.

Some research I did on N.O. away games..

12/24 vs Giants W 52 degrees NY lost 5 of 6
12/10 vs Dallas W No temp available but in Dallas shouldn't have been that bad and Dallas didn't show up for the game.
11/26 vs Atl W In a dome
11/12 vs Pitt L 39 degrees and Pitt 3-6 at the time.

The rest were all early in the year:
vs TB W 81 degrees
vs Car L 82 degrees
vs Gbay W 78 degrees
vs Clev W 68 degress

I am in no way saying to use this as the only tool to play the game but posting that they did well in away games but didn't have to deal with cold or snowy weather. Their coldest game was Pitt at 39 degrees and lost when Pitt was sitting at 3-6. As you can tell by my avatar and sig that I am biased but have bet against the Bears plenty of times. I would of liked the Bears to win but like the money more. If the Bears can't stop or at least contain the run today they will lose.

good luck

just cover - I'm from B/N too and a die-hard Bears fan. I rarely bet on the Bears (it only adds to the disappointment if they lose), but I am playing them today as well.

The Saints live for the big play, and the Bears defense is designed to take away the big play. I think the Saints will move the ball on the Bears, but won't be able to get into the end zone very often. The defense will show up today and limit the Saints scoring opportunities.

Also, the public is loving the Saints. Usually a good sign to go the other way.

Good luck. Go Bears!

Hey Bears fans.....good luck today.

I would rethink the weather factor here though.

Defenses have to react to what the offense does...reacting on less than solid footing does not give the advantage to the defense.....that advantage goes to the offense.

One other thing.....if the Bears just barely beat a crippled up Seahawk team, how in the world can you like their chances today against a well balanced New Orleans.........?????

I don't get it.
