St Johns +5.5 over Notre Dame (21)
Florida St +1.5 at Boston College
Auburn +2 over Alabama (12)
Illinois -2.5 over Indiana (24)

Thoughts:
Notre Dame should be favored by 8.5 and they have a revenge game on deck with Villanova (who just embarrassed them).

Boston College should be favored by 3 and has to goto Duke on Sunday.

Bama should be favored by 4. They've played a couple tough games in a row, and now have to play a rival on the road.

Indiana is ranked but is a dog to an unranked Illinois team. The book knows something because they expected them to play right with Wisky on Saturday.

i'm with you on illinois but the others seem fishy. I think Bama will roll Auburn and ND should beat an overconfident St Johns team.

the book doesnt know a damn thing because they keep giving way too much credit to a bad illinois team.

illinois was essentially +2/-2 in the following gms at home

vs maryland
vs ohio state
vs wisconsin

the book was 'supposed to know something'
in all 3 of those games.

heres what i know:

illinois is garbage this year.
maybe they win by 10. but the books keep taking a hit because they put out bad numbers on this team.

You very well may be right gman. One of my theories is always taking unranked favorites over ranked teams. I win with them more than I lose, but I do lose enough to know nothing is a sure thing. This could be one of those cases, but I'm betting that it's not.

I felt the same way as GMAN when I saw the line for the Wisky game, I thought Illinois is terrible and wisky is only giving -2, I was all over it, had to sweat it out a little at the end.

I think it has more to do with Illinois home record in that all their games are usually close at home, at least in the big ten.

its not that i disagree with the play at all. i just dont buy the 'book knows something' part because the book has continually put out bad numbers on wisky gms this year and overrated their home court. the outcome of tonights game is inconsequential. illinois is a bad team. at some point, they are going to win one of these gms. more a laws of average kind of thing. but as a whole, the books have taken a hit with them

I know where you are coming from, and I get it. My thoughts on this line are: 1) If the book is trying to get even money on both sides, is this the line that gets that done? 2) The line does not reflect the power rankings (which most do). Something stinks and I have to go with what I know works. While it might be burning the book all season (with this team), I go with what I know.

Take care and good luck.

Adding one more:

Providence -1 over Villanova

I've been looking forward to this line and I see it finally came out. Nova has been good to me, but I think they are due for a letdown.

plus side works buddy..

take a peek at the posted total in the Ill. game......132.5
when a total is off by 40 points I find it very interesting to follow those 2 teams next couple of times out...

continues success...
