I think it is a bad matchup for the Spartans. Just my honest opinion and not really a homer view, because I am very hard on my team.
I really think that the main weaknesses of the Buckeyes are perimeter defense and transition defense. Lately, we have been turning the ball over more than they would like, but I think that is more of a statistical anomaly than anything. Conley is the best PG in the nation, I truly believe that. Butler is a great ball handler as well.....Lewis and Cook are a bit sloppy......but hopefully will show up tonight.
But the main thing is that I think you need more than just one guy who can knock down a 3 ball to beat the Buckeyes......and Michigan State is not only really not interested in shooting outside, they just arent really good at it besides Neitzel........Butler should be locked down on Neitzel for most of the game......and I really dont see anyone on Michigan State that can exploit our weakness in defense......Michigan State really doesnt want to get out and run either.....so there goes that.
I look at Michigan State and I see a lot of decent sized guys that sit around and wait for Neitzel to do something for them, and then they pick up the rebounds and pick up trash points......Well, I got news for them......the lane will be clogged and there will be very little to put back as trash points. Now, they do have the ability to get Oden in foul trouble.....but at home, I doubt that would happen.
I like OSU and the under, but that is a hard combo to hit both on....so I have to decide what I like better
