Nebraska +5.5 (KU)
------ I rarely bet on KU in college basketball... I watch them enough to have a high level of confidence in knowing how they will come out in games, which is valuable because they are one of the most up-and-down teams in the nation.
Here is what we know:
1. KU has had problems with Nebraska in the past.
2. Nebraska finally has a competant coach
3. KU has had some problems on the road recently (upset by TT, almost upset by ISU in the last week and a half).
4. Nebraska fans should be going ballistic... playing the elite team in their conferance in a rare nationally televised BBall game... and we know those fans like to uphold their image of diehards.
5. KU has only shown a killer instinct once this season... in the Florida game... and they almost gave that one away in regulation.
6. KU wont be taking Nebraska seriously. They didnt take ISU or TT seriously... and the only reason they blew out Baylor was because the Bears couldnt hit an outside shot and have no interior defense... so KU could score at will w/o breaking a sweat.
Anyhow, like I said... I rarely bet on them... but I do look for spots to bet against them (last year, my GOY-for all intents and purposes- was against KU in Austin).
I think this is a good spot to go against them. Nebraska will be ready... and a lot worse Nebraska teams have given KU problems than this one... Sadler knows this is a statement type game too... that could help with recruiting a lot if they pull a shocker... Im gonna stay away from the ML for now, though.
There is always the chance that KU decides to flip that switch and just starts killing people... but us Jayhawk fans keep waiting and waiting for that to happen... I think they allow the Huskers to stick around in this one.
GL guys.
