got back home a few hours ago.the drive back home seemed twice as long as the ride going there.....wonder why ?

wife (suzanne) & i arrived at the monte carlo at about 2:30 & our room was ready & it had a great view of the vegas strip.

we left the room around 3pm & headed over to the mc sports book & to the books at the casinos within walking distance of the monte carlo. i was looking to put in a big bet on the under for the football game if i could find a book with a total line of 49 or higher (i already had a nice size bet on under 50(130) at the greek... but all i could find was 48 at these books. at this point i was second guessing myself for pulling out the all of my remainding funds from my offshore accounts. i didn't want to be "shit out of luck" & wait for a book to decide when to pay me if they decided to pull out of doing business with u.s. citizens.

eventhough i i was a little annoyed, the wife & i headed to the pub around 4:15 & as soon as we entered the place there was jack, kosar, & raymond......& the drinking began !!

seeing these guys made me forget my annoyance.

a little while later a few other members started trickling in.....terry ray, bubbas1(tim) & his wife darcy,& a guy who doesn't post much named mike (sorry forgot his posting name). after awhile we all headed to a long table in the center of the pub & a few other posters started popping up (judge,smurphy,pro190 & his friend mandy, nysportsfan & bulldog)......sorry if i left somebody out as i'm sure i forgot some others.

as the night went on...jack & tim bought these long tubes of beer & shared it with those who were drinking beer. i'm a cap't. morgan & coke drinker & try not sway too much from it.....

as the night progressed & the drinks flowing rapidly, the group became a little more rowdy & people took turns heading to the casino & coming back to the pub.

at some point i lost account of the time.....suzanne headed back to the room...i left the pub with terry ray, raymond, jack, smurphy, & mike. tr, ray & i headed to the tropicana to see what their line was....jack, smurphy, & mike stayed at the mc to play blackjack.....after looking at the lines at the trop & not seeing a 49 on the total, i talked terryray into taking cab rides to various vegas sports books looking for that elusive 49.i'm sure terry could give a better account of where we went...but the search lasted for a few hours & it seemd that the cab fares cost me over $50..but am not sure because at that time i must have had about 8-10 cap't. & cokes...& was basically following terry...but the bottom line was i couldn't find any 49..some books had 48.5..but wouldn't sell me the .5 point....so i was bummed again as terry & i headed back to the monte c arlo....i would guess that the time was around 12am or so & as we headed into the mc lobby we run into jack (seemed to be sleeping on his feet), smurphy, & mike standing right in the front of the lobby.....i really don't remember what was said but after about 1/2 hour i called it a night & headed to my room...leaving the others still standing in the mc lobby.

saturday morning suzanne & i walked towards mandelay bay for breakfast & on the way i checked the lines at nyny & excaliber...& found 48 at all 3 books.after breakfast we headed over to the bellagio...me to meet up with some of the members & suzanne played video poker & went shopping at the stores in the bellagio. since i was dead tired from the long drive & the long hours at the pub, i only stayed there at the book for about 2 hours.since we had tickets for lance burton that night, i need to get some shut eye before heading to the show. i don't know if anybody here ever saw his show....it's just too much typing to explain some of his tricks...but i will say he is absolutely amazing...i highly recommend seeing him.

after the show, we went to the chinese rest.(dragon noodle) across from the lance burton theater for a lite bite...food was nothing great. after the meal & before we headed up to the room....i checked the lines at the sportsbook & it was still holding at 48.

at 7 am on superbowl sunday i headed to the mc business office to use their computer & to check some on line sites that post offshore & vegas lines. i couldn't believe that some of the books went down to 47.5. i immediately ran down to the mc book & noticed it too had 47.5. a guy i was standing next to attributed the move to bad weather . i told him i liked the under even if it was sunny. as soon as i finished that last word, i remembered that i saw on the net that leroy's still had 48...so i bolted over to leroys which was located in the tropicana...& sure enough they still had 48....so i took the under 48 for about half of what i was going to play if i could have found 49. at this time it was about 9 am..so i then headed back to my room to meet my lovely wife for breakfast...which we had at the paris hotel....& we played video poker for most of the time before we headed to the trop to watch the game & meet up with everybody.

i'll be back in a little while to talk about the party.

when we got to the tropicana, my wife wanted to play a little more video poker before she would go watch a boring game, that she didn't understand...so she told me she would meet me there.

when i got to the party room, i was greeted by our master of ceremonies himself....madjack. i want to tell everybody who hasn't had the pleasure of meeting jack....you will never meet a more friendlier honest person than jack. throughout the day he went from table to table meeting & mingling with everybody in the room & trying to make people feel comfortable. you swear if you didn't know any better you would think that jack was running for office...lol

after talking to jack...i took a quick look at the room....there was a long buffet table that was about 20 feet long that had hotdogs, chicken wings, pizza, & the like.at the end of the long buffet table there was a carving station where a guy took care of the prime rib.....there was also a place where you could get ice cream....& of course there were 2 large tvs & the bar area....where you could get free drinks starting at 2:45 vegas time. i only tried the prime rib & had a 1/2 of a dog.....i wanted to save room for my drinking.

after a while suzanne showed up & we wound up sitting at the same table with bubbas1 (tim) & his lovely wife darcy. from the first minute she met bubbas, my wife thought that bubbas1 looked like & laughed like ray liotta. & after spending some time with him, i have to agree.we found tim & darcy to be very warm & friendly people who like to have a good time.

a little while later another couple joined us....hooks (dave) is a poster that i have known here for a few years & always had good exchanges with him in the football forum. so i was looking forward to meeting him after i learned that he planned in attending this year's party for the first time.hooks & his lovely friend cheryl were also very outgoing & friendly & seemed like they were friends for years. we had a lot of laughs at our table.

as an under bettor, the game didn't start off very well for me with hester returning the opening ko for a td...so right after that return i decided to step up my drinking....& my good friend bubbas1 also came through with this concoction (sp ?) that tasted like cough medicine. this was the first time in a long time that i broke my cardinal rule, by mixing drinks.....alternating cap't. & coke's with cough medicine (lol).....& after awhile i felt no pain.and then a little time after the hester return, the colts tied the game by capitalizing on chicago's mixup on defense with a long pass for a td. after that play,i still increased my drinking. i figured i might as well drink enough to try to forget the game. i also started walking around the room talking to other members & paying less attention to the game....

which brings me to smurphy...for some reason we got into a discussion (i forgot the reason) of him being adoptive by my wife & i.so he spent the day calling me daddy & my wife mommy....i don't know if he was as plastered as i was or he was simply lonely....but i told him the bottom line that if he wanted me to adopt him, i had to see his stock portfolio...which i should be receiving shortly.

the score was now 14-6 & still in the first quarter....bar keep i'll have another !!

i then wandered over to talk to the judge. if anybody hasn't met the judge yet...they are missing out with talking to sharp guy who knows his stuff...i also learned a few weeks ago that he is also very classy. another thing about the judge that few people know about him is that when he has few drinks in him, he becomes a little forward with the opposite sex. i learned this when we took a break from the game & as we were walking down the hall at the tropicana, the judge would go over to anybody of the opposite sex & ask them if they wanted to come up to his room & touch his robe.....i think judge you should try a different approach.

when i got back into the room, it was 16-14....& the greatest kicker in superbowl history was lining up to kick a field goal right before half-time......& he missed !!

so the total score at halftime was 30 & my unders 48 & 50 wasn't looking too good. so as the great moneyman that i am i was offering people to take my bet at pennies on the dollar.....but no go. so i was stuck with my action.

i have something to take care right now so i'll be back with lots more on the weekend in vegas...

and my long review continuessssss....

i thought that maybe i can win my under play when the colts used up about 7 minutes of the clock to start the 3rd quarter...& only came away with a field goal.

i continued my mixing of the the drinks....

which brings me to one of my favorite people at madjacks....raymond is very similar to guys i grew up with in brooklyn...very honest & down to earth....& somebody who would go to bat for if he was your friend...but he's always asking me to feel his muscles...which i do & then walk away from him as fast as i can.

about a half hour or so later with the score 22-17, indy got a pick 6 which brought the total score to 46 points....but with about 11 minutes to go.it looked bleak....with my under bet...& my drunkedness (is there such a word ?). by this time the section of the room that was on the colts started to get a little too loud (can't blame them) so i wandered over there & talked with agent, rolltide, & some others (sorry forgot the names) & from what i can remember, the conversations i had with them were pretty lively.

i also talked to another one of my favorites..senor capper...& his lovely wife. senor capper also had the colts & kept telling me that his family doesn't realize what a great football capper he is...& because of this he shouldn't be doing any household chores...i just rolled my eyes when he said that.....& he said that's what his wife does when he tells her how great a capper he is...

i know i talked to quite a few other people during the superbowl...but i honestly can't remember who they were....(lol).

when dungy didn't try for a field goal with a few minutes to go in the game...i thought that i luckily won my under play.....& when the game ended i realized that i was too drunk to walk back to my room at the monte carlo...so i leaned on my wife to guide me first to the tropicana book...& then to a cab for a ride back to the mc.

when we got back to our room, my wife parked me on the bed & said that she was going to play a little more video poker...so i layed in the bed with my clothes on watching the post game show in a drunken stupor, while my wife was throwing away her money with video poker...

about a half hour later, my wife comes back into the room screaming with excitement.....after just a few hands she hit a royal straight flush.....& won $4000 !!!

but her excitement turned to frustration because i was too drunk to really understand what she was telling me.....that she won $4000 !!!

more tomorrow...

...you guys are too much....wish I had been there. :SIB

Al, I met Jack...and I agree.... I'm sure in Vegas, at HIS superbowl party, he was...as you said... the "master of ceremonies" ...and, as always, a class act! ;)

...will be picking your brain over the next few months about NYC.

p.s. maybe I can talk the little lady into next year's get together...heck, I might drag dawgball and the memphis boys along with me. (The Smithvegas crew would be there in the drop of a hat.) :SIB

Al, let me know when the guesthouse is finished and I'll be moving right in. I figure I'll earn my keep with a paper route - until I figure out the whole stock market thing. I look forward to meeting Mom's hot friends!

thanks guys...it was great seeing "old friends"..& meeting new ones...

taoist...we need some southern flavoring at these events...so come to the next one & bring your boys.

smurphy...if you don't like older women, then i think my wife's friends are a little to old for you...& what guest house ?...our son will sleep with us & the dog...do you have a problem with that ?

agent...we have pictures...but at this point we don't know how to get them onto the site...but will try either tonight or tomorrow.

and my vegas review continuesssss...

monday was an uneventful day....sleeping off the booze from sunday & getting the full story of how my wife won the 4gs (& i mean every second of the event)....we did spend most of the afternoon & evening at the paris casino (great place to have lunch)...& the aladdin shopping mall.

tuesday night we met smurphy, terryray, agent & happy hippo for dinner at nero's steakhouse at caesars palace.it struck me funny that all of the males had steak while the females had fish...there must be a message there...but it's beyond me.it was the first time that i actually talked to agent & hh...& found them pleasant & very friendly.i especially found hh to be very sweet & told her that her posting name does not fit the real person....& she should change it...she told me to fuk off !!!..............(only kidding).

after dinner suzanne went to see elton john.....i thought it was a great show, but the wife was a little disappointed.she thought his show would be a big production type of show...with singers & dancers...but instead he just sung his songs sitting behind his piano...show lasted for close to 2 hours.

on the way out of the auditorium, i wound up standing behind former viking coach, mike tice (boy is he tall).....as we were walking out i watched where tice was heading to...he walked into the sportsbook...& then into the poker room (wonder how he did)......

we then headed back to the monte carlo where i watched my wife play video poker again....& ended the night about 12 am.....because we were leaving early the next day back to reality....

as i mentioned earlier...will try to post pictures later tonight.
