Apart from a win over then-No. 9 Connecticut, a team that then fell into a freefall that sees the Huskies fighting just to make the Big East tournament, the Mountaineers haven't beaten anyone of note. Its best win is probably a home victory over Villanova, and the team has lost at Notre Dame and at Marquette. The teams it plays twice in the Big East are woeful Cincinnati and struggling Seton Hall as well as Pittsburgh. The record is gaudy, but the overall resume isn't as strong.
Next on the horizon, however, are some big-time opponents. And better yet, they're coming to Morgantown.
No. 7 Pittsburgh[LOST 60-47 IN MORGANTOWN] and No. 5 UCLA both travel to face the Mountaineers. A win over just one, and WVU's record is validated. Losses to both, however, will have many questioning whether an impressive mark against unimpressive opponents is enough to make the team a lock for the NCAA Tournament.[courtesy USA TODAY]
Bruins last 5 games they have allowed an average of 55.6 a game..while scoring 70.2 a game.
Mountaineers had posted some gaudy #'s VS the likes of SETON HALL..RUTGERS MARSHALL..CINC..and then Pitt. put the hammer down w/"D"..
I expect Bruins to do the same.
