So. Miss -4 over ECU ***** strong play
When the fans start wearing bags over there heads at home games that says something. My son who is a junior there refuses to put a bag over his head.he does cry and whince though.ECU is hurting big time.There the equal to the Iona of the MAAC.[almost anyway]They are 5-18 overall,4-7 at home, 0-10 in CUSA.Also they are 0-17 vs D-1 teams.There wins are vs Morgan St,Limestone,Chowan early in the season.Losing Hinnant there best player early on didn't help. They have many newcomers,transfers and freshman.They rank at the bottom in the country in scoring avg 54 pts a game,FT% is an amazing 55%.That means Shaq shoots better then the Pirates.There passing game is bad,they have no inside scoring presence,there shot selection is terrible. Throw in no depth with freshman getting a lot of playing time for next yr.One of there top freshman 6'9 Fields who avgs 9 pts and 5 bds hurt himself in the Houston game the other nite and is out tonite.jenkins there 5'10 juco transfer hit 8 3's the other nite vs the Coogs.he is there only brite spot and he's just coming out of a shooting slump.With very little depth they are going to have a tough time in the 2nd half keeping up with SM.
SM under Eustach-she has really turned things around. They are 10-3 ats,play pressure defense and have only 3 real offensive players and the rest role players.There top 5 or 6 scorers are all gds with little inside presence.Wise and Stone are pretty solid with Craft who has a lot of talent and Beasley.SM is 15-8 overall,in the middle of the pack in CUSA 5-5,but only 2-6 away.They did beat UAB and Smoo on the rd by 2 ans 1 pts.Also SMiss has never won at ECU going 0-6. But Eustac-she has taken this team that lost 20 games lyr to almost getting an NIT bid.And thats what there shooting for.At 15-8 with a couple of home games left they can win 18 or 19 games and maybe get an invite.
ECU at home has been getting beaten so bad by CF,UAB,Memphis,Tulane and Rice by 18,16,17,10 and 17.with a depleted team,small crowd,no offense,my son not going to the game,the Pirates will stay with SM maybe in the 1st half and then fatigue should sent in.
So Miss wins this by 8-10 pts...
think the MAAc conf games get wiped out due to the snow storm. many BE games too.
