Have to be smart today.So many games I like.have been playing with these games all week.Made my own lines and cannot believe how close I came to so many.We'll play a few strong,few med,and a lot of lite ones.It's the kid in the candy store today with my mouth watering...and most of the time I'll go home still hungrey with no money left..be careful..
Marist -15.5 over Colgate ****** strong play
Not going to get into Foxes.You guys are probaly so bored hearing me week after week about whittington and his 3's,Jordan leading the nation in assits,etc,etc.Foxes have won 5 str.beat Iona and manhattan big.Iona would crush Colgate so that should tell you something. Colgate cannot score. they avg 57 pts a game ranked 329[right next to iona]
They can't shoot 3's,poor FT shooting team.no post defense,no rebounders,etc. Colgate has a small team with there gds doing most of the scoring and rebounding. who stops 7'0 Smith,Stil 6'8,and the rest. Foxes win this by 20 at ease.Colgate last games have scored 53,54,58,42 36,etc.They lost there two last 2 in OT..
Delaware -5 over Iona **** strong play
Iona got its one win.it's back to reality.They are playing a little better but hens at home beat NC -wilma by 9 and hofstra by 4.They were 0-3 vs MAAC teams but did beat Niagara way back by 18.Courtney is tough to stop but McMahon has come alive scoring 16,27,26,12 and 14 in last 5 games.he still avgs only 9 pts.Iona starts 3 or 4 freshman,and many times 5 are out there on the court.
West Vir -11.5 over Seton hall ***
Hall away is having problems.Bobby G runs his full court press the entire game.They hustle and in the middle of the 2nd half you think..maybe an upset...but then they collaspe. So much trapping and chasing causes other teams to get good open shots or layups.That is why one stat pops out big time. Halls def FG% is ranked 272nd giving teams a 46% sucess rate.Well vs WV you do that and your dead...You cannot give these guys open looks...they will be hitting them from the 3rd to 6th row today..hall on the rd lost to RU.Marq,ND and Prov by 4,13,12,and 22.Wv is 15-2 at home knocked off UCLA,DePaul,UF,StJ,Nova and Conn by 5,12,11,30,11,and 10.
Hofstra -5.5 over Holy cross ****
HC is a good team.They are 20-7 and 10-6 away.Simmons is a stud and the best player to come out of my area.Marist missed the boat when they didn't sign him.HC is dangerous and can pay some great defense.I think they could beat many D-1 teams including most in the MAAC.There one weakness is they have no inside scorers. Thomas is a 5'11 gd that can play.but Hofstra has the 3 best gds in the Colonial.IF HC has some scoring threat inside they could play with the Hofstras.HC hasn't been as consistent beating Army in OT in a classic game that Army wants to forget. Tied 52-52 in OT,...final score 70-52 HC...HC outscored Army 18-2 in OT.HC has some wins over Colgate,American,BU and delaware by 3,3,5, and 3.So there not blowing anyone away. They play solid defense buts its not against Stokes and co.Hof at home will be ready..Pride win this by 10 or more..
Prov -8.5 over Johnnies ***
Prov is somewhat in a slump.But vs the lower Big east teams like Rutgers,Hall.Marq,they have won at home and covered.In last few games they lost to ND,Pitt and marq away by 3,6,and 7.They did have trouble vs cinncy winning by 1. think they handle Johnnies on the rd .Johnnies on rd beat Cuse by 2,lost to Pitt,Depaul,Hall and WV by 20,8,16 and 27.
