Siena +5.5 over Marist **
Over 145.5 *
Game time 11.00 am est..on national tv..espn 2...Sold out,SRO,Poughkeepsie is the hot bed of east coast basketball..lol just kidding...All the students will be wearing "white" in whats being called a "White Out". Also rally towels will be given out to the 1st 1,500 fans.Close your eyes for a second and you might think your in l Lawerence,Kansas. Both teams have won 7 in a row. Marist is in 1st place and a win this morning clinches it.Siena has a shot with a win today and some help tomr.saints can't win at Mccann center. they are 2-7 in last 9 here. It's senior morning..Jordan's last game,Whittington,Smith, etc. Siena has played great down the strech.Haddix, hasbrouk,Moore the frosh, and returning home to Poughkeepsie the MAAC rookie of the yr Ubiles. He lives 10 blocks from the campus. Also ty Fisher who is still in a slump played a few b-ball games at McCann and home is just a few miles up the thruway.
I think everyone in the world is on the foxes. And I think they win but I like the +5.5 pts.I think its a high scoring game.Smith the 7'0 hit 5 3's in there last game. Stilphen,Beng are 6'8 guys inside.Siena is quicker and smaller. But Jordan can dominate for the foxes. There last game marist won 84-75 in OT and Jordan had a triple double.I think this game stays close right up till the end.Siena has the talent to stay with the foxes.Like the over also..Foxes 81 win-79.Or just maybe reverse that...

Will come back tonite and explain some late games..have to go to a school function soon..i
G.washington -4 over Lasalle **
Georgetown -6 over Pitt ** esp w/o Gray
UAB -10 over marshall *
UL Monroe +4 over New orleans **
BYU +2 over SD St **
Utah St +2.5 over La Tech **
Rice -5 over Smoo **
UL laf +1 over North Texas **
Nevada -1.5 over Boise ***** strong play..not a trap either...
Fresno St +7.5 over new mex st **
Duquesne -8.5 over Bonnies **** strong play
URI -8.5 over Fordham **
over 137.5 *
Tulane-So Miss over 134 *

I find it a little ironic about todays game in Poughkeepsie. With the students all wearing "white". Just about 11 years ago my HS team is playing the Long island champion and defending state champion in the state regionals at McCann..the winner makes the final 4 in the state championship..in Glen Falls...They are 21-1 and my team is 14-6. they have 5 returning starters back. They run a diamond press that dominates teams.but when we walked into Mccann the entire side of the stands was wearing black t-shirts. it was a blackout. pretty intimadating for my players during the pre-game warmups..for 3 days all we did at practice was work on breaking the press..shooting FT's and running 3 last second plays..Long story short..we break there press,in fact we attacked it and scored off it.Laroi M my shooting gd breaks a regional record that still stands and hits 7 ..3's...they were concentrating on my 6'9 stud whose name was Delaine.. but I called him In-de-lane for all his 3 second violations...We win by 3 or 4 pts and the black out was over.Laroi did have an advantage at Mccann. he worked for Maggarity, Marists coach in summer camp as a councilor there for 3 weeks. If I played the LI team 10 times i win one out of 10.. it was just one of those nights.
be back later..good luck today.. thanks for all the nice comments this week

bohawk..its abou 5 degrees today with a windchill of -5..tell me about padre please..your weather updates alone make me warmer..

Hey Box! Nice write up, neat story with the Black Ouit.

Gotta get your input on this when ya have time. Will we see a rematch of this game in 9 days for the MAAC conference title. Or will someone else slip in there? Kind of a Have and Have Not sort of year in the league, so i dont see a bunch of contenders next week. Is there even a darkhorse?

Thanks in advance.....good luck with Siena, hope the game lives up to its national tv spot!

I feel like I did the right job capping but...you still lose..will be back in awhile with some explanations..just got back from my HS's ". "Odyssey of the mind". Not sure if you guys know what that is but it was so long watching 5 of my school teams compete..be back later..

Sienna had that game. They were leading for most of the first half and never trailed by more than 5 points all game. Were up 3 with 2 to go ... Marist hit a couple prayers to send it to OT. Then the inevitable fav. cover in OT.

lohengrin, agree w/ you saints could've won in regulation, but the marist 3's weren't "prayers"...hc brady is the penultimate teacher/coach of long distance shooting, was 1 of the reasons st joe's progressed as far as they did when he was there...mr. box knows more about this, maybe he will add something here, but i watched the game and thought i got my money's worth...gl for the rest of the day, caper

Nevada -1.5 over Boise. ****** strong play..line is low and it might look like a trap.Boise has won at home,5 str winslast time in Reno only lost by 4 to pack...etc,etc.Nev has dominated this series winning 12 of last 14 and swept lyr by 14 and 3.Boise at home is tough but look who they won there last 5 games from, san Jose,West Montana and Albany who almost beat them and lost by one.
The Nev gds are the key not Fazekas. But the 6'10 Faz is only the best player in the WAC who can score inside or outside..Sessions is a true pt gd and boise defense will have trouble tonite stopping him.Dribble penetration and his side partner Kemp who at 6'5 can do it all.Kemp has NBA talent and can slash, shoot, etc.Shiloh is the other gd who just happens to be the best defender in the WAC. He will gd Boises shooter Coby who is in a shooting slump.
Nev makes few mistakes and does so many good things. Then you have Faz and he will cause matchup problems.Throw out all the great ATS stats on both teams..this is about matching up and getting stops.. Wolfpack win this by 6-10 pts on the rd..only if the custodians at the Taco House painted the court blue would I be worried..that would scare me..

little Dukies -8.5 over Bonnies **** strong play
Hate giving that many pts but you gotta love this team.Platoon system,10 guys coming at you for 40 minutes, leaders in A-10 on offense,FT %,2nd in assits,. Defense full court presses all game..contests every shot..fast breaks, etc.Bonnies can't keep it. maybe for 30 minutes but they will tire and dukies get double digit win

La-laf +2 over North Texas **
NT again is the most talented team with no coach or fundamentals. How many times can I say this. They work on drills in practice for 20 minutes and scrimmage the next hour and half.Nt should beat laf who is down this year by 15 on the road and 20 at home. And laf will win outright tonite.NT in last 4 losses had leads of 11,11,11, and 12 with under 5 or 6 minutes and lost by 1,1,4 and 1.They were up 12 with a few minutes left the other nite vs ASU and took 4 three pt shots that all missed.davis finally benched Sturns the 2nd half because he won't pass the ball to anyone..its not true that when he in bounded the ball he bounced it off the refs leg and took off..

caper..Kojo would of given this team the MAAC.what a fool..
lohengrin..I don't want to watch the game..maybe late tonite..thanks for the update
toledo..think it could be a rematch if there seeds are opposite..Saints win at Harbor in MAAC's tourney.

Nice day Box. Nevada really showed its class in the second half. Murray State won with authority as well.
