it`s amazing the indignation that some have regarding those that wish to have faith in something that is basically harmless....

""My thoughts are this, to all the bible thumpers, if you have this personal relationship with God, then please keep it personal. If you want to thank God, then please do so in your mind and not publicly.(If he is all powerful as some say, i think he will hear your thoughts), but please i dont need to hear them. thx"....

and would like to curtail their right to free speech to boot.....where`s the counselor and all you civil libertarians?......

so many mental pygmies on the left.....it`s not even the fact that they may be spiritually and behaviorally retarded.....clogging up the luxury rehab clinics and squealing like pigs whenever some new clump of shit rolls down the chute,like this james cameron garbage............

i understand that any belief in faith undermines their effort to create a society that has no restraint.....that`s what faith...any kind of faith entails...some control and some discipline in one`s life...

there are some things that simply ARE....
love, empathy, sympathy, protecting children, and kindness.....

i`d like to think these are innate human characteristics and you can choose to believe where they come from....

but these ARE the tenets of judeo-christian faith...ask the founding fathers...

and i don`t see why it`s so appalling to everyone....

just ignore them...you`re free to live your life as a reprobate if you choose...within reason........and the law....

Weasel really likes the "indignation" word lately. He does that - he gets a fancy word in his head and runs with it for a while.

Weasel, are we all supposed to just kiss Buddy's ass all of a sudden now that he posts his daily walk with the Lord?

He posts, people reply. Of course there's some ball busting - there always is. Everyone seems fine with it - even Buddy. But of course - AS ALWAYS - you drag pygmies, James Cameron, and the founding fathers into it.

To answer Buddy's question, No I didn't go to Church - but I did enjoy the day and was greatful for it.

I did.

Sat in the second row from the front.

Pastor preached on Psalm 40 (How God can save us from the "Horrible Pit and the miry clay")..

Powerful.

Find a song from 25 years ago by U2 called "40". It's about the very same thing. You might like it very much.

"I waited patiently for the Lord
And He inclined to me and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction
Out of the miry clay
And He set my feet upon a rock, making my footsteps firm
He put a new song in my mouth
A song of praise to our God
Many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord"

(Portion of Psalm 40, which inspired ? Bono's lyrics)

I waited patiently for the Lord
He inclined and heard my cry
He brought me up out of the pit
Out of the miry clay

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song

How long to sing this song
How long to sing this song
How long, how long, how long
How long to sing this song

He set my feet upon a rock
And made my footsteps firm
Many will see
Many will see and hear

I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song
I will sing, sing a new song

How long to sing this song
How long to sing this song
How long, how long, how long
How long to sing this song

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit,
out of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock,
and established my goings.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear,
and shall trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust,
and respecteth not the proud,
nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,
and thy thoughts which are to us-ward:
they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee:
if I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire;
mine ears hast thou opened:
burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come:
in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God:
yea, thy law is within my heart. Heb. 10.5-7
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation:
lo, I have not refrained my lips,
O LORD, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart;
I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation:
I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth
from the great congregation.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD:
let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about:
mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up;
they are more than the hairs of mine head:
therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me:
O LORD, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together
that seek after my soul to destroy it;
let them be driven backward and put to shame
that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame
that say unto me, Aha, aha.
16 Let all those that seek thee
rejoice and be glad in thee:
let such as love thy salvation
say continually, The LORD be magnified.
17 But I am poor and needy;
yet the Lord thinketh upon me:
thou art my help and my deliverer;
make no tarrying, O my God.
Hey smurph,
I don't expect anyone to kiss my backside. Everyone has a free will to do as they so please. I'm well aware of the controversy of spiritual topics. I don't care. When you're internet anonymous, who cares if you stir the pot from the left or from the right. Doesn't really matter as long as it's stirred. I don't care who I "offend".
My fervent hope is that by posting what I do, I can prevent someone from experiencing the heartache I'm going through now. If my posts or remarks make one person struggle to attend church or have one parent say goodnight prayers with their child, then I believe Jesus is pleased with their effort. And with mine.
No one wants to believe they need anything spiritual until a calamity strikes. Whether if it's of their own doing or circumstances beyond their control....doesn't matter.
And in a foxhole, everyone's a believer.
That's what I'm saying. I know you don't expect to be nurtured on the forum. I assure you though - you are not "offending" anyone. ...Or if for some reason you are, then that's the other person's problem. The important thing is that you can keep the posts coming either way.
actually,the "chill out" comment was directed toward buddy`s "gardenweasel lovefest" comment....
it`s a bit overwhelming to "be loved" and to avoid "being wished death upon" in the same thread......
i think i`ll chill out...
