I joined the "V" club when I was 27 years old (anybody else have there's at a younger age?). I love my kids dearly, but I'm not sorry I can't have anymore. I had other concerns, however, as my wife had lots of complications with both pregnancies, and we felt thankful to already have 2 healthy children.

TMI above, but back to your question, I don't think it's too old if you both want more. Pray about it, and let nature take it's course and decide for you. GL!

German Brother, Sister Who've Had 4 Children Together Fighting Incest Laws

"A German brother and sister who have four children together are calling for the country's incest laws to be abolished so that they can continue their sexual relationship.

Patrick Stubing and his sister Susan — who grew up separately — have had three of their children taken into foster care.

Two of the children have disabilities although it is not known if these are due to inbreeding or because they were born prematurely.

Stubing spent two years in prison for incest and faces another jail term unless the legislation is overturned.

The couple's supporters said the law is archaic and harks back to the Third Reich's obsession with racial purity.

They want Germany to follow the example of countries such as France, Belgium and the Netherlands where incest is no longer punishable."

i guess the baby would be living with aunt mom and uncle dad?.......

I'm almost 38 and have one child (5 year old boy). My wife and I decided to call it quits after one child. We've thought about having two but we decided to be selfish and live the rest of our lives for us!! Don't get me wrong - I'm not knocking having kids, but it just seems like everyone we know who has two or more kids has NO LIFE!! They can never join us for dinners or golfing, a movie or anything for that matter. Their houses are a friggin' mess all the time, they are always stressed-out, tired, and short on cash. My wife and I spoil our son like crazy, and he has lots of friends and cousins his age, so we're not worried about him being "lonely" when he grows up and we're long gone. I love my son - he's my little dude, but life is just too short in my opinion to spend 10 or more years chasing around little children and missing out on the many things life has to offer. My wife and I have a very healthy marriage - and I think it's largely due to the fact that we make time for ourselves. We golf, shop, see movies, travel and just try to enjoy life. I don't see any of my friends with two or more kids doing any of this because their lives completely revolve around their children. We feel having one child lets you have the best of both worlds. Some might think this is a selfish attitude, but I guess everyone is different. So to answer your question - "no", 35 is not too old to have more kids - if it's what you want.

Completely agree with your write up, I have 1 little girl 16 mos old and love her to death, I am trying to convince my wife to only have one, but that is gong to be a longshot...

Mully, you aren't too old at all, but i won't lie and say it is an "easy" age to have children. (at least in my case, cuz having the son beg for me to go out and play catch or give him batting practice last summer after a HOT day of loading airplanes brought out aches that i never dreamed could have existed. :( ) right now, he's 11 and i'm 47.

Now look at it for the sake of your current son. Being an only child has it's ups and downs. I am an only child and where it wasn't that bad as a kid, since there were cousins living here quite often, it is starting to take it's toll in recent years.

We were still living in Minnesota when my mother was dying of cancer, and i needed to come down here to care for her on weekends during the school year, and go back up to MN on weekends during the summer for my ex to have the kids. Drove 22 round trips with a 5 and 7 yr. old doing the "he looked at me", "she touched me" routine in the back seat!!!

Now we have moved back to Iowa since my father has no business living alone. I feel guilty getting away for a couple days occasionally for pleasure, but sometimes it just has to be done. The weekend before the superbowl party this year, he had his old pacemaker/defib removed and replaced to the other side due to device infection, the weekend after the superbowl party he went into cardiac arrest again for the 4th time in 2 years, and last week he fell on the ice and broke his elbow.

trying to juggle his schedule, and the schedules of a 14 and 11 yr old is extremely difficult. i won't call it a burden, but it sure would be easier if i had any brothers or sisters to help part of the time when i can't be around.

Reference Taoist's "pic of the day" thread as i say.......GO FOR IT. ;)

(another added note about being away from dad... the kids and i got trapped over at the Moline Holiday Inn over the ice storm last weekend while attending a family reunion, and dad had to fend for himself at the house with his new cast...i felt SOOOO guilty over that one. DAMN LUCKILY we never did lose power at the house, even tho a branch landed on the power line in the back yard, and we were only without power for 6 hours at the hotel.....had to suck being you with the length of time you were powerless. :( )
