After being robbed last week, they were stupid enough to open back up? They called the cops after they were robbed! I told you they were all morons. I haven't been there in months. Didn't like the "direction" it was headed.

yeah Agent, you stole my thunder I was going to ask the following in light of reading this......obviously its case by case, but with risk of raids and robberies and the shady folks that run these underground places, is it worth going to them anymore? I've got one 15 minutes from me on LI and it's 1-2 but the action is absolutely unreal, raise preflop to 15-20 and get 4-5 to most flops, some real big action and lot of idiots with money from who knows where, but the $5 half hr time charge sucks....anyway ive heard rumors of robbiers and past raids theyve had to move once or twice, it's probably eerily similar to this indy place, having 2nd thoughts about going anymore as dont want to have bad luck and be there when it gets raided and lose my money, or robbed and lose my money, any thoughts?

First of all $5 half hour is cheap, quit bitching! It's $6 at the boats and it is def cheaper than $5 a pot most places cut.

I quit going to this place 3 months ago, because they got very lax on security and who they let in the door. I observed a couple of groups of young guys who I thought were casing the place. I said it would be robbed or busted soon, but likely robbed first. Low and behold 3 months later 2 black guys walk in the front door, nobody knows them but lets them in anyway and they rob the place.

Now this.

NYSF, if you have a boat close its probably the best place to play but I play at a lot of these places. You just need to pay attention and don't go where they have huge tourneys going on. That attracts all the attention to the place.

LOLOL

that's criminal. that's not even beatable below $20/40 or 5/10 NL

wow.

What did you think they were cutting? That has been the case as long as I know of?

It IS beatable, I have beat it over the course of 4 years of steady play. The players are that bad.

$6 is criminal

vegas is $4 in most places now but for the last few years was as low as $3

online is $3 everywhere

los angeles is $6 on the half which is fine for 20 and up.. goes to $8 for 40.80

if that has been the case forever than you guys are getting bent over. $6 is absolutely insane and criminal. Especially for guys trying to play $3/$6 games and stuff. You can't beat it. You might have shown profit, but your ass must be sore and cannot be worth your time.

Maybe you misunderstood me. At the boat it is $6 for half an hour so $12 an hour time rake.

The local games that don't take time rake but per pot rake take $1 on $20 $5 max (but of course they double whack some pots, I have seen it many times)

Let me tell you for a regular player at these limits, between tip and rake you spend THOUSANDS per year. Why wouldn't a guy play online with reload bonuses, rakeback, low rake, mult-itable ability, much faster play, no tips(HUGE), play in your boxers and play with yourself while you surf porn, etc.

i undrestood 10 % up to $6 per pot. that would be bad. $5 is pretty bad as well.

i agree $3 and in my boxers is the best. rake free at wsex is better, but the game selection isn't as good.

never surf porn while i play, but always wonder how many guys are tooting their horn at the online table.

i bet the dealers get shafted at your boats. wow, they must not make chit. especially if they pool tips you must have some really bad dealers.

They used to pool tips and it was HORRIBLE. Could take a fukcing year to get the next hand. They went to keeping their own and it got a lot better but still nothing like the games I ran. My dealers were putting out 50 hands an hour in our home game and they did very well.

Of course, those were the "days".

Back when if you didn't get to the game by 3:00 there were no seats till midnight, and people actually waited to play. Instead of whining, crying and going down the road.

This place never would have got raided except for one thing, the cocky bastard who runs it Ryan, called the cops when u got robbed a week ago. He let the cops in the building and they seen the whole setup, what the hell did he think was gonna happen.

As far as I was told about the robbery it was actually a couple drug dealers that have played their in the past, he knows exactly who robbed them.

It was Pretty funny seeing RYAN taken away in cuffs, he is a pretty cocky arrogant person.

A buddy of mine was called and interviewed this afternoon about this story, and the Indianapolis Star will be doing an expose on underground games in indy, i'll post the link when I get it. Basically up in muncie indiana, it was taken to court, and the prosecutor lost, because Muncie jury decided poker is a game of skill not risk. So this will be challenged with this case also.

Wasnt bitchin, Chad. It really isnt a lot if you're winning, no question. Obviously the $5/half hr time charge is in addition to the rake on every pot which I assume is just standard (maybe there is just the time charge, i dont notice the pot being raked as theres so much commotion and chips in there). The security issue is a shame, man. This place has 2 doors that they need to buzz you in, and usually if they dont know someone they dont let them in (they didnt let some older looking guy in who 'looked' like a cop, whatever) but yeah that is scary, a raid sucks just as much, dont these places put cops on the payroll though, I'd think?
There are clubs in manhattan but i dont know the details of them so I wont bother, ac is only 2.5 hrs away. The boat I dont know details of and im sure their tourny take is huge, i know ceasars near you guys is probably better.

yeah BDB, I highly doubt it, the $5 half hr time charge is plenty. Although I've been reading lately on 2+2 how easy commerce/hawaii gardena (sp?) etc are out there (apparently even 8-16,10-20,20-40 are really fishy and horrible players, is this true? wonder how the variance there compares to online, with no more neteller i dont do online anymore.. anyway, this 1-2 NL game plays extremely deep and they are just middle aged clowns with money to burn $20 pre flop raises with 4-5 callers, the 5-5 NL runs even bigger, you should move to NY man you'd make a massive nut in those games, but something about those illegal places I dont really feel comfortable there. Ive even had one distance of a f--kin prick dealer get tipped like $10 by some regular on a large pot, then he says to the whole table "look at this guy showing you guys up with his tip" what a friggin moron, that sh*t didnt happen when i was in vegas theyd be fired

if you guys are paying a rake on top of time you should have the owners arrested for theft.

i've never heard of that.

gl

but still have about 6 different live games I can play in any nite of the week!!! YAA HOO!!!
And Yes played at this place last saturday nite, but not last nite.

They stopped the 1/2 hour rake a while back, basically $2 to $5 rake a deal, so don't know if that is better or not, prob. not.
