A buddy and I were just discussing this. After the UCLA game was over, they showed OSU highlights and then Wazzu highlights. It was amazing how much better and more entertaining Gus was than James Brown (who happens to be the guy CBS is moving into Gus' spot for next weekend's games).

Nice Call as I have never heard an announcer get more excited during games. Glad the Aggies won as they looked dead, but found a way to win in a hostile environment.

Gus is good. Gotta love when a guy puts his heart into it.

ESPN RAdio did a spoof on his exuberance: "He's in the layup line...it's GOOOD!!"

He's good, but was it me or was he in love with Louisville? He's calls were pumped up twice as much when they did something vs. A&M.

Not pleasant when you're on A&M.

I was so tired yesterday afternoon. Been in a 4-day drink-fest!

I fell asleep on the couch midway thru 2nd half of OSU/Xavier. I woke up a couple times, very briefly, and then dozed off again.

All of a sudden, some kind of commotion woke me up. It was Gus Johnson and there was about 5 seconds left in the game.

I am awake and see the ball go in the air, hear Gus, try to figure out the score while ball in mid-air, Gus confirms the swish instantaneously and I figure out that it was to tie and not for the game.

All this in about 10 seconds. Big thanks to Gus for waking me up to see that and for total entertainment of a basketball game.

Amen brothers. I've said this for years when he first started in the NFL. Great calls without the stupid bullshit you usually hear. It's great to hear him get excited, especially when your money is on the same side. Awsome. :00hour

Wrote a thread about Gus Friday. Think it was the first thread in MadJacks history were an announcer got praise instead of grief. another guy i always loved was Howard Davis who did football. Not sure where he has gone.
