Me and a few friends take a golf trip each year and are looking for somewhere to go this year. We usually take the rv, rent a car and play about 3 rounds preferably at 3 different courses. I know the regulars and we have been to most what I was hoping is some of you would have some not so well known places that would perfect for our situation. We are trying to decide on La,N.C.,S.C.,tenn or even ken. We usually go in july so were even thinking about mountain golf in hopes it would be a little cooler. Not looking for immaculate courses just some fun on some above average($40-60) courses. Can anybody help a brother out??

Crossville Tn is the golf capital of Tenn. Some pretty good public courses here. Stonehenge best public course around. It was in Golf Digest. There are eleven courses in the county. All around $30. Let me know if you decide on here and might see you around.

All good recommendations--have another that I went on last and will be headed there the 9th of next month again. It is duel trip if your buddies like play golf in days and hit tables at night.

Tunica Ms on border of Tn. They have 3 courses within 5 to 10 minutes of casino's. Would rate any of the 3 equal tp Crossville's with exception of Stonehendge with is in class of its own.

Green fees are modest from $45 to $65--and all but Cottonwood have specials @ 2 oclock and 3 oclock of half price.

My only negative on Crossville is it is cool at that elevation in early spring or late fall-

Thanks guys for all the help. At this point really looking at asheville and crossville. Been to hilton head, I think the farm might be a little to far for the guys, played the rtj trail, and though tunica would be great for me the guys I go with are not into the casinos like I am. Really leaning toward asheville since I have never been and the average temp looks about 10 degrees cooler in the mountains. All the courses there look nice, but would anyone have any suggestions as to which ones are the best. Prefer true mountain courses. Also anyone from that area know the best place to find a cabin for rent? Again thanks everyone for all the info!!
