Cuse +3.5 over Clemson ****
Winner of this goes to the Garden in NYC...Cuse loves playing at MSG...think they feel if they win tonite they can win the NIT's.They will get fan support,etc.. But they have to win tonite.A lot has been written on this game.Cuses 2-3 with Devon and Rautins at the top.Watkins and Roberts are 6'9 and 6'11,and Harris whose 6'5 but sometimes plays like a 6'10 fd. Throw in DNic who is there best player at 6'8 and if hot can hit from anywhere.
Clemson did a great job the other nite vs Miss but struggled vs ETSU.Mays there top rebounder is banged up and so is Hamilton one of there best gds. Im assuming there both OK tonite...Clemson will press and cause turnovers. Miss had 26 the other nite.But that won't happen vs Cuse. Devondorph who sometimes plays with a low b-ball IQ will be in control and he will not only break the press but attack it.
Clemson is not a good 3 pt shooting team and they are the worst FT team in the country..Iona[remember them} shoots better. Tigers shoot 58% ..333rd in the country..also there FG% defense ranks 205th where teams are shooting 44%.Cuse is ranked No 2 in the country in FG def and 22nd in 3 pt def %.
Cuse also can shoot the 3 vs a team with a terrible perimeter defense...Rautins the 2nd half of the season woke up. he and DNic could have a big game tonite.I like the Cuse to win this straight up...but getting +3.5 is even greater.
Jimmy Boe has his Orange prepared.Harris is explosive and Josh wright the super frosh from Utica,NY has been a huge disappointment..but he woke up the other nite...think tonite we will get to see him play.. ATS..Clemson is 6-12 at home..Cuse is 6-5 away..
AF -7.5 over Depaul **
Flyboys playing at home...they shot 11 -25 from the 3 vs georgia the other nite..They are 11th in the nation in shooting 3's.. No 1 in FT%...76%...wow..No 2 in the nation in defense ..because of there motion offense..depaul will have trouble tonite.
Marist Lady Foxes are in the sweet sixteen...They play Pat Summits Tenn...not sure of the line...but the foxes destroyed Ohio St and Middle Tenn...Foxes are the most fundamentally sound team in basketball..including the boys..Vols have greyhounds.. are athletic,faster, frontline with size,can jump,rebound,etc. foxes are not athletic,small frontline,but has 7 players that can all play guard...and can shoot the eyes out of the basket...will not be a blowout...Vols coach Pat...is a little worried..
