Aaron Harang completed his spring training with another ragged outing Wednesday, then wasn't concerned following the Cincinnati Reds' 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Harang, who will pitch the season opener for the second year in a row, had a tough time getting his slider over the plate. He gave up 10 hits -- nine of them singles -- in five innings. He allowed three runs, while striking out two. He gave up 46 hits in 25 2/3 innings during spring training, finishing with a 6.66 ERA that didn't bother him. "Got all that out of the way," Harang said. "I'm not worried about it. Now I'm just making sure my timing's correct, making sure I'm in shape and ready to go for the season."

Fantasy Analysis
Oswalt has been on his game this spring. He will start his fifth straight opener when Houston hosts Pittsburgh on April 2. Oswalt is one of the top 10 starters in all Fantasy leagues, perhaps worthy of going in the top five -- especially in Head-to-Head leagues.

Royals SP Gil Meche, who signed to a five-year, $55 million contract in the offseason, allowed seven runs and 10 hits in six innings during Wednesday's spring game against the Padres. "I think he was having trouble getting his fastball down," Royals manager Buddy Bell said. "I think he's ready to go and that's the main thing. He has good stuff, but at times he was a little erratic with his command." Meche, who start on opening day Monday against Boston, struck out three and walked two. He wrapped up spring training with a 0-3 record, 7.31 ERA and 11 strikeouts.
Boston's Curt Schilling outpitched Minnesota ace Johan Santana in a spring training matchup of two of the best pitchers in the major leagues. Schilling allowed two hits in 4 2/3 shutout innings to help the Red Sox beat the Twins 5-4 Wednesday night. He struck out one and didn't walk a batter, finishing a test run of his new changeup. "It depends on the day," Schilling said of how the changeup has been going. "How it feels. The hitters. The game plan. All of it." Schilling finished spring training with a 2-1 record, 1.71 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 21 innings.

Fantasy Analysis
Schilling is set to pitch the Red Sox's season opener on Monday against the Royals. It should be an easy opener for the veteran right-hander. Schilling is in a contract year and will be motivated to have a good season. He remains a top 25 Fantasy ace, even at his age, because of all that anticipated run support.
Starter Kevin Millwood gave up 12 hits and nine earned runs in 4 1/3 innings Tuesday. Reliever Eric Gagne allowed four runs and five hits in a 20-pitch inning. Left-handed reliever Ron Mahay got just one out while being touched up for seven runs. On a day when the wind gusted to about 30 mph at times, Millwood, the Rangers' opening-day starter, had trouble with location. "I'm not worried about it," said Millwood, who had given up only four earned runs in five previous games, including four "B" games and against a Triple-A club. "Every time I made a mistake they hit it hard, and that doesn't usually happen."
Angels SP John Lackey dropped his spring record to 2-1 with an awful four inning showing Friday against the Mariners. He allowed 10 hits, two walks, two homers and nine runs. He did have two strikeouts.
