The Royals got a fine performance out of free agent
Gil Meche to open the season, but with this team he
will inevitably get tagged with a number of losses,
and the first one should come today. The Tigers
are far more talented, and managed to post huge
road profits in 2006 (+$1700). The Royals, on the
other hand, were only 13-36 against lefthanders
(-$1405), and let's not forget how effective Mike
Maroth was in nine starts last year before being
sidelined with injuries (+$520, 3.56 ERA). The
price on this game is very reasonable considering
the disparity in talent
