He never stood a chance in this game. He's a crappy pitcher to begin with, then on top of that he hasn't pitched in almost two weeks and it's the home opener in Boston vs. Beckett. I'm already regretting I didn't put more on the runline!

Well I don't blame ya. Taking the runline is always a bit risky. I only took the runline cuz the juice got too high on the moneyline.

I always get nervous with run lines on home teams. I feel like I've been screwed in tight games a million times where they score in the last to win or in extras.

Completely agree. I think only getting 8 at bats instead of 9 is a huge disadvantage when betting the runline. And you're right, if the game is tight towards the end the home team will usually play small ball and just go for one run to take the lead. I've gotten screwed on it many times too.

you gotta look what league we're talking about and what team. although, yeah, in the NL, two closely matched teams... yeah, it's risky to take the runline for either team, but in high scoring games in the AL, the runline (on the fav) is a far safer bet than it is in the NL.

also, most of the time i'm going to play a runline for the odds, i play a larger play on the ML and then anywhere from a tenth to three-quarters of that bet on the RL to cover if the hook costs me.

I agree. Runlines in the AL are definitely easier to cash in the AL than the NL. And today's BoSox game really set up nicely on the runline. I usually do play the ML when I play the RL as well. I've done that twice already this year (A's and Brewers) but I didn't do it today because the ML was over -200. If somehow the M's would have won today I would have lost my ass and I'm not willing to put a big chunk of my bankroll on one game.

Not sure. Maybe he threw at him? Better question... Donnelly is a pretty good pitcher. Why the hell is he in there in a 14-1 game??? Hell, let Lugo pitch at this point!

After the two Maroney scores I'd like to see Vanderjagt come in and kick a FG. :mj07:

Guillen's a hothead, he probably got into the mix somehow. :mj07: Pretty surprised to see that Morrow tagged Pena. He's a rookie straight out of college and this is only his 2nd big league game. If he drilled him intentionally he's got some huevos!
