Got any info for me? What to do where to go in the evening?

Is there a casino or card room anywhere close? Memphis is pretty close to Mississippi, right?

Help out the gographically challenged.

I am not from Memphis, but I have been several times. Tunica is 30 minutes from Memphis. Very easy. Beale Street has all the blues bars and is pretty cool. The best place to eat is the Rendevous. Best BBQ in the US hands down.

Didn't know you went from World Traveler to living in Memphis.

I'll be arriving Monday and staying the week. Not sure how much of each day is eaten up by work.

I have no idea how big Memphis is, but I'll get your e-mail from Jack and give you the specifics. I should have internet access the whole time, perhaps we can meet up???

I used to live there during college and might be making a trip back down there this weekend, but i'll be gone by monday.

Phin8282 is still there and could answer any questions, but I'm sure wareagle can answer just as knowledgably.

I would definitely hit beale and like wareagle said tunica is a short (boring) 45 minute drive from downtown.

Be sure and check out orange mound with the windows down....it'll beat any roller coaster you could ever ride! :scared

As the other guys have already pointed out...there's Tunica casinos and Beale St.

If you're an NBA fan you could probably catch a Grizzlies game....there should be plenty of tickets available as we have the worst record in the NBA! :com:

Be sure and get all the BBQ you can handle......there are several different spots for this....Rendezous, Leonards, Interstate (recommend Interstate for lunch as you don't want to be there after dark).....and several others..

Thanks for the input all. Looks like work is gonna keep me pretty busy the entire time I am there. I should pretty much have constant internet access so if anyone is up for grabbing a beer one night other than Friday post here and we'll make plans.

I don't really see a scenario where I can get to Tunica even though it's so close, be sure I'm gonna try like hell though.

RENDEVOUS IS GREAT 4 dry ribs, but corky's is good for wet ones. there is a bbq shop in midtown that is a heck of a find (no publicity), and i can give you directions if you would like. i eat lunch there from time to time.

owen brennan's on poplar ave is a personal favorite.

downtown - the redbirds have a triple A franchise and the park is beautiful. does not look like a minor league attraction except it is a smaller venue.

i am pretty mobile all day being in sales. wareagle has my # i think.....

i will update my email. i will help any way i can, but 3 children keep me grounded a bit - which is actually a very good thing.

Wow, at first impression I have to say you guys live in a great town. I admit I haven't seen much, but what I have seen of town is fantastic.

I'm back at the hotel room for the night since my day started at 3:00 EST and has went non stop.

Tunica maybe Wednesday it looks like. Corky's tomorrow for ribs, can't wait.
