i find it hilarious that i keep hearing that we need to "move forward", "end discrimination", etc, etc, etc

now i see the stats on almost every mlb game i've seen today touting how few blacks there are in mlb compared to 5-10-15-60 years ago.....and the answer is that we need MORE blacks in baseball to get more fans, be better intergrated, etc, etc, etc

so my question is.....should the same argument be made for hockey?

what about the same but opposite argument for the nba and nfl needing more white players for better intergration, etc......how well would that argument go over??????? i'm guessing the moral higer ups like jessie and al sharpton would both be calling for the firing and execution for anyone suggesting that one.


i think fans of ANY SPORT want to see the best players that play the game AND entertain us, regardless of race.


discrimination based on race alone is racisim and acceptance based on race alone is also discrimnination and racisim.

I think there needs to be more Hispanics in basketball. How about more Asians in football? Kidding. There will always be rants. If MLB was 99% black there would be complaints that there aren't enough black managers. If there were mostly black managers people would complain about not enough black people in the front office. If most of the front office people were black there would be complaints that there aren't enough black owners. And when I say "people" I don't just mean black people. I think our society still has a severe complex about its past. Although somehow that doesn't apply to Native Americans? :shrug:

My question has always been this... how many black applicants are there for coaching jobs? If they are the majority of the candidates then there could very well be a problem. If they're not the majority though doesn't it make sense that there would be less black than white coaches??? The company where I work is mostly white but I happen to know for a fact that most of the applicants are white. Seems fairly logical to me. I dunno though, maybe I'm looking at it too simplistically.

That is so right.

What do we need every sport to 80% black w/ 60% black management to make people happy. WTF.

It is so tired. People calling for minorities this & that....till they completely take it all over.

I think whites should make a serious calling for better intgration in the NFL & NBA.

Nor do Winfield's three C's hold any water in my opinion. I believe there is a simple explanation. A general lack of interest for participation in baseball in predominantly black communities.

You caught that too huh? They were really beating that into the ground. I watched the game with a couple of buddies and we actually started cracking up at one point. I always think the same thing when I hear all this stuff we need more blacks in this and that, we need to encourage young black kids to play baseball. What if they don't want to play baseball. Who cares how many black, red or white people are playing what sport, this is 2007 it's not like people are being banned from playing any sport.

this is a baseball issue and these same hypocrites should be worried about lack of participation in baseball by ALL KIDS, and trying to correct that problem.....not worried that there is a lack of participation only by black kids.
