Pope criticizes the ?cruelty? of capitalism

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18094760/

?Confronted with the abuse of economic power, with the cruelty of capitalism that degrades man into merchandise, we have begun to see more clearly the dangers of wealth and we understand in a new way what Jesus intended in warning us about wealth.?

[/I]

maybe he should criticize the betrayal of trust that his priests have committed over the years along the raping of little boys. when he publicly does that then i will take what he says more seriously.

Capitalism has generally done more to advance the quality of life in the world, than charity has or can.

It's not without 'victims' but it is naive to think the world would be this far along with a "church sanctioned" economic policy.

The Church is upset because they haven't gotten their "cut" of the markets growth since they had a monopoly on paying away any sins committed.

True story.....

My local Catholic parish's priest told my mom that her divorce from the POS she married would be OK in the eyes of the church for $500. She paid it like a good Catholic. I'll never forget that.
