I got to watch a couple innings of the KC/Detroit game tonight and the Royals once again found a way to lose. They're the sorriest team in baseball. Tough to not like the Tigers in the early game, but... Dejesus is ripping the ball for KC and something tells me the Royals will give a solid effort tomorrow.

Meche is KC's ace and comparable to Bonderman IMO. Big problem is KC's bullpen is the worst in baseball right now.

KC +180 for 5* - If these a-holes lose again, I'm done with them. I was betting against them and then took them the past 2 nights. Hopefully the third time is the charm.

It's certainly a good price w/Meche. One thing to be concerned about is Meche has a history of one solid start- one sh!tty-one solid....according to his past history he is on the sh!t start because he pitched 6 scoreless last outing. He also is having hamstring issues and knowing Bell- he will probably pull him after about 25 pitches. You know, we need him healthy for the September charge.

I think its worth the +180 shot.

Adding:
Baltimore +120 for 3* - Bedard has owned the Devil Rays during his career. Kazmir coming off a huge win over Johan Santana... hoping for a letdown.

Angels +100 for 3* - Lackey has completely dominated the A's during his career. Haren has struggled vs. the Halos. Big concern is Vladimir's health in backing the Angels. However, the A's aren't exactly ripping the cover off the ball.

I always liked Meche when he was in Seattle and sincerely hope the guy does well. He's absolutely killed me in the past when I've bet on him, so he pisses me off in that aspect, but he's one of the very few athletes who is actually humble and soft-spoken.

Having said that, what you said about his inconsistency is completely true. For years and years in Seattle he was supposed to be the golden boy that was going to become a #1 starter but it never happened. He was always labeled as a "potential" guy but, unfortunately, he never fulfilled that potential. He was one of the most inconsistent pitchers I've ever seen wear an M's uniform. One start he looked great and got your hopes up, then the next start he would go out and give up 7 or 8 runs in four innings. I think a lot of it is mental with him. He certainly has good stuff.

Last year the M's should have dealt him at the trading deadline when his stock was the highest it had been in years. But of course Bavasi was too dumb to realize that. They just let him and Pineiro go and believe it or not people are/were actually happy to finally be rid of him. After watching a supposed star in the making struggle for years you finally get to the point where you've had it.

Like I said before, I truly hope he does well. He's a nice guy and he deserves success. Maybe all he needed was a change of scenery.

if i did the 5 inning bets i'd do the same with the under but dont know about the KC. maybe KC +.5 or +1.5... a game like this with such a weak bullpen coming in after this ace is a great spot for the double total bet.

IMHO

You'd be wise to stay away from the Colorado's and KC's of the world. I intentionally bet against bad teams with aweful pens and especially like to bet against bad teams with bad pens after they blow a game. For a bad team to come back the next day and try and beat a better team after giving the previous game away is a lot to ask. In the same token, I don't like to bet big favs coming off a loss as a big fav to a scrub team. No $$ for me on the early starts.
