An interesting thought from another forum..
32 died at V.Tech yesterday.
Over the past 10 days that many US service members have died in Iraq. Tragically and sadly, those numbers are pale in comparison. 5,000, 10,000 or more before the EXPERIMENT OF DEMOCRACY in the Middle East is over in 10 or 15 years.
1. Why don?t we mourn for our soldiers as we mourn for those at VT? I don?t see candlelight vigils all over the US for our men and women who have been slaughtered by IED?s and gunfire in the Middle East.
2. The flag is at half mast for the VT tragedy. Why is it not at half mast permanently until IRAQ is over?
We could have prevented almost 3,300 young men and women, some trying to get INTO college by earning money by serving their country in a war zone by not preemptively going to war.
We could not have prevented the VT deaths yesterday; however, we mourn them more. Don?t use the excuse ?It is college, people are not supposed to die in college.?
Many of the young men and women over there right now signed up as National Guard and Reservists to support and defend this country, not to be used over and over and over again on deployments in a war created by NEOCONS and the military industrial establishment.
What is this country coming to????
Looks like business as usual, 150+ civilains killed at market with car bombs......when will this madness end?
