BEGINNING MONDAY APRIL 23

Atlanta at Florida (3) 23rd, 24th, 25th

These teams split a pair at Turner Field last weekend, but there is a huge disparity in team hitting right now (Marlins .295 team BA, Braves .230), while the pitching a fairly evenly matched. Dontrelle Willis is off to a super start (+$300, 3.32 ERA in three starts) and is an excellent value in this setting. PREFERRED: Willis.

Colorado at N.Y. Mets (3) 23rd, 24th, 25th

The Rockies couldn?t figure out the Mets in six attempts last season (1-5, -$405) and they were only 25-43

(-$1030) on the road vs. righthanders last season. The starters in the NY rotation should have no problem throttling the lackluster Colorado offense. PREFERRED: Righthanders vs. the Rockies.

Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs (3) 23rd, 24th, 25th

The Cubs aren?t getting much quality work from their starting rotation right now (4.03 ERA, 4th highest in the NL), but we?re still uncomfortable with the Brewers in road games, following last season?s -$2300 debacle. PREFERRED: None.

Oakland at Baltimore (2) 23rd, 24th

The Athletics went 19-6 in road day games last year (+$1620) and they?ve got an afternoon affair at Camden Yards in the second games of this series. PREFERRED: Athletics in day games.

Toronto at Boston (2) 23rd, 24th

The Blue Jays have a way of getting the best of the Red Sox (12-7, +$420 last season) and after the Red Sox get through hosting an emotional weekend showdown with the Yankees here at Fenway, we?d be surprised if Toronto couldn't manage to come away with at least a split. PREFERRED: Blue Jays in both games.

N.Y. Yankees at Tampa Bay (2) 23rd, 24th

The Yankees are playing decently, but not exceptionally well right now, but they are wildly overpriced as always. The Devil Rays made money here at Tropicana Field last year (+$1145) and if they split here they?ll net a fat profit. PREFERRED: Devil Rays in both games.

Seattle at Texas (2) 23rd, 24th

The M?s took 2 out of 3 at Safeco Field last week, but we don?t expect to see Felix Hernandez, and other than him there are no pitchers on either side that we find appealing. PREFERRED: None.

Chicago W. Sox at Kansas City (2) 23rd, 24th

The Royals lost 11 of 19 head to head contests, but still made money against the White Sox (+$405) and we hope to see Gil Meche (3.10 ERA in three starts) on the mound at Kaufman Stadium in this series, depending on how the rotation sets up. PREFERRED: Meche.

Cleveland at Minnesota (2) 23rd, 24th

The Twins have been struggling to score runs against lefthanders (only 3.3 per game) and we expect to see Jeremy Sowers (2.08 ERA in two starts) take a turn at the Metrodome. PREFERRED: Sowers.

Detroit at L.A. Angels (2) 23rd, 24th

The Tigers were a solid road team last year (+$1700) while the Angels lost money in this ballpark (-$295). We?ll play these games accordingly. PREFERRED: Tigers in both games.

BEGINNING TUESDAY APRIL 24

Houston at Pittsburgh (3) 24th, 25th, 26th

After getting drubbed by the Pirates in three straight games at Minute Maid to open the season, the Astros will look to get back to the way things were in 2006, when they won 13 of 16 in head to head play (+$985). But their offense is struggling, so we prefer to wait until game day draws near. PREFERRED: None.

Washington at Philadelphia (3) 24th, 25th, 26th

The Nationals more than held their own with the Phillies last season (+$535 in head to head play) and with Shawn Hill (3.86 ERA in three starts due to make a start, we can grab a fat price against the floundering Phillies here at Citizens Bank. PREFERRED: S. Hill.

Cincinnati at St. Louis (3) 24th, 25th, 26th

The Reds got the best of this team in 2006 (9-6, +$500) and with Carpenter sidelined they appear to have a significant pitching edge, even though the staff ERA?s are similar. Keep an eye on Matthew Belisle (+$215, 1.50 ERA), a young hurler who will catch a nice underdog price when he takes his turn. PREFERRED: Belisle.

San Diego at Arizona (3) 24th, 25th, 26th

The Padres match up well vs. this mostly righty rotation (+$1835 as a visitor in ?06), and Jake Peavy has pitched brilliantly in his first three outings (+$310, 0.90 ERA so far). PREFERRED: Peavy.

San Francisco at L.A. Dodgers (3) 24th, 25th, 26th

The Giants dropped all three meetings at ATT Park earlier (-$340) and it won?t get easier here at Chavez Ravine. They are averaging just 2.0 runs per game vs. righties so far (-$405) and LA has a very solid trio to choose from. PREFERRED: Penny/Lowe/Tomko.

BEGINNING WEDNESDAY APRIL 25

Boston at Baltimore (2) 25th, 26th

The Red Sox completely dominated the Orioles in 2006 (15-3, +$1170), so go with the visitor as long as Baltimore does not send a southpaw to the hill (Boston -$1380 on the road vs. lefties last season, +$995 vs. righties). PREFERRED: Red Sox vs. righthanders.

Texas at Cleveland (2) 25th, 26th

The Rangers aren?t hitting (.233 team BA), the pitching is mediocre (4.36 ERA, 4th worst in the AL) and they lack lefthanders who might give the Tribe problems. PREFERRED: Indians in both games.

Toronto at N.Y. Yankees (2) 25th, 26th

Tough travel schedule, following a night game in Tampa Bay, with the Red Sox invading the Bronx on tap for tomorrow. Go with the visitor and look for the split. PREFERRED: Blue Jays in both games.

Detroit at Chicago W. Sox (2) 25th, 26th

Quick turnaround following a weekend set at Comerica. We?ll stick with the strategy of taking any Detroit lefty vs. Chicago, given their difficulty handling southpaws (-$1255 in 2006). PREFERRED: Lefthanders vs. the White Sox.

Kansas City at Minnesota (2) 25th, 26th

Another quick turnaround after playing in KC over the weekend, but we don?t feel all that confident taking KC on the road, where their aces might be vulnerable. Pass for now. PREFERRED: None.

Seattle at Oakland (2) 25th, 26th

As long as Felix Hernandez is not in the mix, the home team has a huge edge vs. the Mariners, who check in with dismal stats two weeks into the season (.214 team BA, 4.79 team ERA). PREFERRED: Athletics unless opposed by F. Hernandez.

Tampa Bay at L.A. Angels (2) 25th, 26th

The Angels should dispatch this team without difficulty but steer clear of the anticipated high prices. PREFERRED: None.
