Perhaps this thread belongs in the sportsbook forum, but thinking I might get more replies here. I just recently started wagering at WSEX. So what is the advantage of ever betting on a game before it starts and not using live betting? Seems like you ALWAYS get better odds in live betting. For instance, right now you can bet

DALLAS -3.5 $52 to win $100

or

GOLDEN STATE +3.5 $53 to win $100

So why would I ever want to bet 55 to win 50 before the game starts? Even if let's say Dallas got a big lead and I wanted to bet them, it would still be something like $75 to win $100...

I must be missing something here? Seems too good to be true...

Does that mean it is too good? I am usually quite adept at interpreting your use of smilies, but I am at a loss here, free... Give me one more smilie and if it's a good one, then I'll know it is too good and WSEX rocks!

live betting is not a bad thing by itself.. but its more of a gimmick. its too easy to get caught up in the bounce of the ball (i.e. minute to minute game swings) and fail to rely on your natural handicapping instincts.

but i admit its fun, and i do it occasionally.:00hour

OK...but still - let's say my "superb" handicapping skills led me to believe that I wanted to take Dallas before the game started at -3.5. I would lay $55/$50...

Why not wait until the game starts and even now when they have a lead I can get them at $71/$100, or in the same terms as what I would have bet before the game $55/$77...why would I ever want to take the juice before the game? I guess that is my "ultimate" question...

thanks...I will! It's kind of like the stock market I guess and seems like you can grab some real good bargains at times

Well, Pinny is still the best, and after being so spoiled for years I have the hardest time laying that (-110) juice...ughhhh.

the live betting...i think its only for playoffs...

good point - I think they might use it for big games on TNT and other stations during reg season if I remember correctly...that was a long time ago for my old memory ha!

Well I use it for golf a lot and have made some good $$$$ that way...

wsex rocks - don't get me wrong. I love it - WAY better for live betting. Just in comparing juice before the game starts, pinny was the best. Why ever lay juice before the game at WSEX? I don't see any reason why if live betting is offered??

you can find deals on their long term markets

their golf is beatable if you know what you are doing or get lucky...lol

most people don't get the juice. theres always a 5 cent hold in almost every scenario.

5 years ago it was better. much better when they weren't so trigger happy on the pause button. you could see the guy shoot before they paused or corrected it. but im sure they got butchered.

its fun to take fliers on longshots....i.e. a golfer 3 strokes back with 5 to play..buy 50 shares at 5 or 7 and hope for a big payday.

but individual games the juice is too high with the hold and they hide it in their market.

it is also useful to buy out of some games or hedge bets. don't just think of it as an entity of one game entirely in and of itself.

and they have it for lots of games. most nationally televised ones and every golf tournament.

been using wsex for 5 or 6 years at least. but pinny was my main out. been happy to go back to wsex mostly fulltime in the last 6 months and never had a problem. my access to pinny is now limited to others accounts. they are even dealing some decent baseball lines. not like they 20 cent stuff they did in the past.

top notch book. never ever had a problem being paid.

happy hippo, the payout was actually 52 to win 48. When it says 100, it means $100 will be paid out to the winner and the loser collects 0. its not 52 to win 100.

Yeah, I figured this out in some dream last night...geez I'm an idiot. I should prob keep my late night musings to myself

Now BDB I hope you are not insinuating that I just got lucky having Zach Johnson in the masters. Can't you tell from my excellent fantasy teams that I am a golf wizard?? :142smilie

I agree tho live betting is great for hedging bets.

Thanks for info everyone...I think I get it now...ha! Still like the book and will do most of my wagering there.

As usual, everything you said is dead on IMO.

LOVE The Golf live betting!!:00hour

Had Luke Donald this week and luckily bailed on his choking ass just in time.
