:mj07: I guess dominating the Japanese leagues is a little different than MLB, eh? I know it's still early in the season but I haven't been real impressed with this guy. He's been hammered a few times already this season and he looks awful tonight. I suppose the good news for the Sox is that Ramirez is pitching for the M's. We might get over 20 runs in this game!

I can only hope you're right since I have the Bosox -1 1/2:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

:scared Well the good news is that Ramirez is awful. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Sox score 7. Then again with the way Matsuzaka is pitching they might need 13 or 14!

Dice terrified of this Seattle lineup:sadwave:

:142smilie I know, how sad is that? They actually hit him very hard in their first meeting in Fenway as well. They only touched him for 3 runs but it should have been a lot worse as they blew a lot of opportunities to score. His ERA at Fenway coming into this game was 5.79. Going out on a limb and predicting it may go up just a tinge after this one.

as much as he sucked in the 1st inning, you cant blame him for all those runs....Lugo made 2 big errors costing runs

True. But even if Lugo makes both of those plays the Sox would still be up 4-0. So he only really cost him one run. Granted, Lugo hasn't helped him at all but after walking the first three hitters of the game I can't exactly say I feel sorry for him.

Don't look now but Ramirez is starting to pitch like Ramirez. :mj07: I was only half-kidding when I said we could see 20 runs. It could very well happen. :scared

Nice hustle by Manny on that DP ball. I don't care how good he is he's undoubtedly one of the bigger pieces of shit in baseball.

Seems like he scared of Ichiro. He may have good reason. Dice wild as hell, yet Ichiro swinging on a 3-0 count.

I don't know if they gave him the green light or if he just automatically has it, but Ichiro does some dumb stuff. He plays like he doesn't know the game sometimes. For instance, he stole second in the 1st on a 3-0 count, after he had just been walked. Not smart. Beltre ended up getting walked a pitch or two later so he basically risked an out for no reason.

There have also been numerous times when the M's are down by a couple of runs, have a guy or two in scoring position, and he'll lay down a bunt to try to get on base. Maybe they play that way in Japan but it just seems like bad baseball.

Ironically enough Matsuzaka had a very good history against Ichiro in Japan. I think Ichiro hit something like .270 against him. Dice was one of the few pitchers over there that fared well against him.

Looks like Manny made up for his loafing earlier. :mj07: The best part was the local announcers saying "God, with the way he was walking you would think he had hit out of the stadium. Barely made it over the wall."

3rd error of the game for Lugo but he's only been charged with one. I don't know who is killing his team more, Lugo or Matsuzaka. :mj07:

I can honestly say this is the ugliest game I've seen in recent memory. Both starters look terrible, neither defense playing great (especially Boston's, who pretty much gave the M's 2 runs last inning), and now you have Francona making brilliant moves like sending Pena with nobody out and one of the biggest gascans in the league, Mateo, on the mound. Never give a team outs when they have a bad pitcher pitching. That was a huge rally killer.
