NY METS (Maine) -120 over ARIZONA (R. Johnson)
We'll look for the Mets to follow up on last night's
comeback win with another victory tonight. John
Maine had emerged as an ace on the NY staff
(+$505, 1.35 ERA in five starts), while Arizona's
veteran lefthander has shown no flashes of the
form you would expect to see from a Hall of
Fame pitcher (6.55 ERA). He'll have a tough
time with a Mets' offense that is 5-2 (+$175)
vs. southpaws, averaging 7.4 runs per game
in those contests. The D'backs are far less
potent offensively (just slighty over 4.0 runs
per game) so all things considered, like
the Mets as short road favorites tonight.
