Going to Captiva Island, Florida. Leaning Cavaliers in game #2 plus the points, but haven't pulled the trigger. I'll try to post my play on this game later this evening. This will most likely be my last post until next week. I'm not bringing a computer and highly doubt I'll have internet access.

Going to pull the trigger for game #2 - I have been on a 10-3 run my last 13 selections ...hopefully the hot streak will continue!

Cavaliers +6 (-120) for 6.5*... Tough game to handicap IMO. Sure Detroit could come out on fire and blowout the Cavs. However, I have to question whether the Pistons will be playing with the same urgency as the Cavs. Cleveland has been a good bet ATS on the road this season while the Pistons struggled ATS @ home most of the year.

I don't expect Hughes, Pavlovic, and Lebron to combine for 13 for 42 from the field again in game #2. I also know Lebron will score more than 10 points and probably score closer to his season average. It's amazing the Cavs had a golden opportunity to win if Marshall had just made the wide open 3-pointer in game #1 with how poorly their perimeter players performed (1 for 10 from trey land as well). The reason is Cleveland committed just 7 turnovers (Pistons had 16) and they outrebounded the Pistons 49-41 in game #1. Cavs are a solid rebounding team for the season and this makes sense since they're a tall team. I think the Cavs will make a much higher FG percentage in game #2 and may win SU, but I'll take the points for insurance.

Pistons 87 Cavs 86

Leaning toward Spurs ML +120 in game #3. Not sure why Utah is a 2 point favorite & laying so much on the ML @ -135 & -140 at my offshore books. I think the Spurs are going to win one game in Utah IMO. If Spurs lose game #3, then ML them game #4 are my random thoughts. I haven't pulled the trigger on this game and it won't be considered a play.

GLTA and have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!

37-25-4 +70.2* for the playoffs... can't complain too much.

Going to finalize my next 2 plays since I'll be out of town as I have stated a couple times.

Cleveland +6 (-120) for 8*... Been rocking in the bases tonight so going to add a little bit to this play. Not going into more details on this game. Read above for my analysis.

Spurs ML (+120) for 8*... Spurs know a win ends this series. Everyone seems to be clicking for the Spurs right now. I expect this game to be very tight, but San Antonio should prevail. Utah does scare me at home as they're 5-0-1 ATS during the playoffs. However, they haven't faced anyone close to this Spurs team that seems on a serious mission. I was out with a buddy who guaranteed a Jazz win in game #3... I just don't see it. Spurs have all kinds of matchup advantages and they should take of business. It won't be easy, but I'll predict: Spurs 96 Jazz 92

Hopefully go 1-1 at the worst to break even, but feel good about going 2-0:00hour

They do have the internet. Don't have much time, but updated record now 38-25-4 +78.2*

Upgrading the following play:

Spurs ML (+120) for 10*

Adding the following play as well:

Pistons +4 for 10*

This will get me through the weekend. Hopefully the run goes to 13-3.:00hour

38-27-4 +57.2* - Rough game last night as Lebron took over in the 4th period. Complete debacle by Spurs on Saturday in the 2nd half. Hopefully I'll rebound the next couple days. I hate going against my original plays, but at least one of these series will be tied at 2-2 and probably both IMO.

Game #4 Utah ML (+110) for 10* - Not too many home dogs this late in the playoffs, but like the Jazz as they should have a lot of confidence after destroying Spurs on Saturday.

Game #4 Cleveland -1.5 for 10* - Cavs played good when the game was on the line and look like the better team right now. Billups and Hamilton look awful and I don't think they're going to become superstars again overnight.

If Deron Williams isn't well tonight, I'm screwed. However, this reminds me of Wade being sick in the playoffs last year or Jordan's awesome game #6 against Utah in '98 Finals. Deron is going to play well and get all kinds of accolades for playing sick.

Wish I had waited as ML has gone to +125 at some offshore books and is currently +115 at my main book.

Larry Hughes being out tomorrow will hurt the Cavaliers, but Cleveland has the momentum and with Chauncey and Rip playing horrid, I still like the Cavs. Hughes absence means more Marshall, Pavlovic, and Gibson which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

39-28-4 +57.2* - Broke the 3-game losing streak. Glad Cleveland continues to cover every game in this series. Pistons have to be a little worried. If Cavs could learn to play in the 3rd period, they would have swept this series.

Leaning Utah +8 (-120) in game #5. Spurs will probably win, but should be closer than this inflated number IMO.

Game #5
Spurs -7 (-120) for 10*... I believe the Spurs broke the Jazz last game and this series will end with a double digit Spurs win. Going away from original prediction after reading some dialogue regarding tonight's game.

San Antonio 101 Utah 84

40-28-4 +67.2* - Thanks Lowell for the comments. Tough game to handicap tonight as Pistons are way overdue for a cover (Detroit just 1-6 ATS their last 7 games:scared ) However, Cleveland has all the confidence right now. I'll make a decision early this afternoon. GLTA

41-28-4 +77.2* - Cavs -1.5 for 10*
Okay, initially liked the Pistons, but they should be in trouble IMO. James won't score 48, but he'll have another solid game. I also don't expect every call to go against the Cavs and Cleveland to shock the world and win this game. Cavs have coverd every game in this series and I'm hoping the 1 in 64 shot of covering 6 consecutive happens tomorrow.

Yeah, I'll admit I'm worried about this game so take with a grain of salt. Oddsmakers obviously love Detroit tomorrow, but why? Cleveland's crowd will be louder than any these playoffs IMO... Cavs have golden opportunity to make NBA Finals for first time ever and I expect an excellent effort.

the one in 64 is boggling but this series kinda remindful of when HOU kept beating and covering vs Magic's lakers and I think no one could beleive they kept doing it until about 24-hours after Tin Man's crazy shot bounced in and HOU made it to finals vs celts

also, has there ever been a closer series? every game has come down to last minute

gl, gregg

ps I like Cavs too

Pt Guard, you have an excellent memory. I believe you're talking about the Rockets with the twin tower combo of Olajuwon and Sampson and I think it was 1986 when they lost to the Celtics in the NBA Finals after beating the Lakers I believe 4 games to 1.
I remember rooting for the Rockets and I didn't have any money on the series, but I think they fell in 6 games. Houston had some decent role players like John Lucas, Rodney McCray, Lewis Lloyd, and Robert Reid who was a tough matchup for Magic Johnson because he was 6-8 and could play the guard position. Sampson's career went spiraling downward after this season if my memory serves me correctly. His knees got shot due to his 7-4 frame with little muscle. Sampson has to be the tallest power forward in NBA history.
