Ya never heard about this organization getting bad mouth before Fox was created. Same old tactic. Pick out one thing out of a million and run with it and then watch mental midgets fall right in line.

:142smilie are you kidding me?? The ACLU has nothing to do with Fox. I had a teacher tell me he was a lib-uh-rull and a "card carrying member" of the ACLU back in 1982. That was before Fox News I'm pretty sure, and I know I made lots of jokes at his expense for his wacko views without Fox to tell me to do so.

Hey fellas, whats the big deal? Its not like the foot baths will have only one narrow, religious purpose. The U of M Golf Team now has a place to wash their clubs and shoes after a round.

that j.c. is such an instigator.....:142smilie ....lol

or,if all the stalls are in use,you could drop a dukey in the bucket....it`s not religious,so,it wouldn`t offend anybody...

and other things "could" find their way into the tub(if people aren`t careful):...

used needles
broken beer bottles
piranha
an alligator
a bear trap

Maybe the nitwit neocon radio that blares so heavily in the South started it a little earlier and Fox just picked up on it? If you listen to Weasal you think you were debating Oreilly. He doesn't even try to change any of Oreilly's words. Hell, maybe it is O'Reilly. Nobody could be able to plagiarize that well. What this country needs to do is get rid of th Aclu, unions, and Lawyers. Then with nobody speaking up for people who desperately need it, they will then come to their senses and rip the truck off of their back that ran right over them.

"You forgot to mention the ACLU protecting the rights of NAZI's to march in Skokie. See its not just my kind they protect. Its your kind also."

Nazis would be just another excellent example to add to the list Edward.

Go through list again and take close look at your radical little ACLU backed town and its citizens.

Fortunately there are some citizens smart enough to figure if they buy survailence equipment using it to deter criminals will be much more productive than the police--of course thats why some of us have towns with little crime--and you and yours can preach about how you owe the ACLU--and live among the elements they protect--and whine its somebody elses fault :)

Seriously, though. The ACLU is acting favorably towards a religious group? I don't know, but maybe the ACLU has become infused with a higher sense of spirituality in the era of the faith based initiative? I wonder what David Kuo thinks about that.

scuse me...but the university`s "footing" this to the tune of $25,000 of taxpayer`s money....what do you mean "they can`t get around this one"?...are you serious?...
Yep, I'm serious. Thanks to freedom of religion, you can't tell the dirty pricks to stop washing their nasty ass feet in the sinks....that would be insensitive. They are stuck in a position where it is either you compromise and take the high road (footbath) or you make the current practice illegal and infringe upon their "right" to practice religion and come off as insensitive organization and ends up getting raked over the coals.

$25k of tax payer money is going towards improving hygiene. I'm sure the mother ship's football program in Ann Arbor will be chipping in a couple bucks as well. It's a public university in DEARBORN! It has the LARGEST population of Muslims outside the Middle East. They are paying for it themselves if you want to take the tax-payer angle.

look,if this isn`t religious...if it`s only an issue about being sanitary,use a f-cking moistened towelette....
That's just it, at the very core, it IS religious! Since you have to "respect" religion, it becomes a hygiene issue, rather than a common sense issue.

you have NO argument... period...this is about taxpayers funding religious practices...a specific religion`s practices...
It's a hygiene issue caused by a religious ritual. This might be news to you, but I think religion should be flushed out of our society. Unfortunately, superstition is granted a pardon in areas of complete lunacy (like this) and the public is forced to deal with the consequences. Throw out the BS social and financial protection given to religion (tax breaks, etc.) and we won't have to worry about stuff like this.

gm....i really don`t know what you`re trying to say........it`s gobbledygook....please clarify...

here`s my take in a nutshell...that fricking un-american orgainzation has spent the last sixty years fighting EVERY religious accomodation in public life.....

we are at a point where you can't have christmas trees in public schools anymore....and christmas tress are a secular symbol.....

yet here we have the vaunted a.c.l.u.telling us that it's perfectly fine to build prayer foot baths with public monies for muslims?.....

Like I said before: It is an issue of health. Why is it an issue of health? Because their religious beliefs require them to clean their feet before worship. Why do we have to accomodate this unclean act? Because this country is too stupid to let go of its religious tolerance.

If you were a student, and had to share the sinks with them, what would your position be? You keep forgetting that there are more people involved than the muslims. The non-muslims deserve the footbath just as much as the muslims. Does that make sense?

say you`re religion wouldn`t allow you to use toilet paper...if you started to wash your backside in the sink, think you could get a state funded bidet?...

You do realize you are stating the exact same situation with a couple of details changed.....so, yes, they would accomodate that person.

i think the a.c.lu. is afraid....i think they`re gutless wonders...they see the violence islamists are responsible for....and they wet their beds.....
or,there are different rules for different religions...
You are missing the point. They aren't asking to teach Islam in the university, or to start each class off with a class prayer to Allah....there religious practice has created an unsanitary condition and the university is addressing it. The other students don't have to use the footbath but they do get a sink that is no longer a footwasher.

1600 years ago uncivilized man did not have shoes, therefore foot bathing (numerous times daily) was the norm.......fine...

in 2007 (and for quite some time now) we wash once, maybe twice....

and we don't smite necks either.....

Newsflash: Muslims aren't the only ones performing outdated ridiculous religious rituals.

Well if Spongey and I are Brad and Angelina, you and Weasel are Larry and Anna Nicole.

Like I said the ACLU is doing a great job of protecting the Constitution of this country despite the efforts by your kind to destroy the union. As I've said many times, this country will not be taken down from outside. It will be taken down from within using fear under the guise of "freedom" "God" and blind patriotism.

What I really don't like about you Wayne, is I think you know this.

I couldn't agree more. The reason I am so anti-religion is because of the power it has in our government and the free pass it gets in our society. Europe is progressing away from religion while the US is trying to increase religion's influence in government. One society is evolving, the other is regressing.

What was that little commercial they were running awhile back with an alleged union member complaining about money being taken out of his check for PAC reasons? I never saw this commercial anywhere but on Fox. If this Pac money was for Republicans you would have never saw this commercial. Why is it that Fox has a problem with representation for the people? If there was no lawyers, no Unions, and no ACLU, every last one of us would be making third world money yet Fox is always out to get these three groups. You don't see it on any other news stations. On another not why is it that Fox has a big problem with the BBC, PBS, CNN, MSNBC etc.. but none of these stations hjave a problem with each other? All these news stations are wrong and Fox is right? As for Eddie you can link me with him all you want. He also can see a con job a mile away while guys like you couldn't see a con job if it bit you on the nose. By the way what was the spin the neocons put on the selling of our ports? That was a tough one to spin and i don't even think you could have fallen for it. Maybe im wrong.

Guess I have no choice but to assume my points were correct, then. Cool. No story here, after further review. Next case?
