DTB or any insurance guru.

In the process of getting insurance for my late moms house, fishing camp, and farm. She had insurance on these 3 things all with the same insurance company. Ownership is now changed on these 3 items.

Can we just change ownership on these 3 items? And is this considered a new policy?

Down here they arent writing a lot of new policies because of the 2 hurricanes 2 years ago. Im afraid we cant get insurance on these items because nobody is writing new policies.

Any input is appreciated..

OK
get quotes from several agents, once you get all the info together, each quote should be easy, agent may want to review current policy. gl

Sorry Buddy--I don't do Property and Casualty-not that familiar with it and every state is different.

However would definately look into into keeping same carrier if premiums in ball park with others.

Ran into similiar prob in Destin Fla years ago.
Was tough to find coverage there--was fotrunate partner aleady had property there or I might have had to pay arm and leg if could have got any at all.

If your mother had good claim experience with current carrier that will probably be your best bet.
Would look to securing that coverage 1st--and once in place you can shop around.

Thanks DTB-We still have the coverage she has but we dont know once we change the ownership of these things will they consider that a new policy? And if they do a lot of companies arent writing new policies.

Was in Destin just last week. Do you own a condo there?

Did own one (5115 Beachwalk) sold it couple years ago--insurance-association fees--property taxes--outrageous--barily broke even on rentals--thought I made a little on sale till I got tax bill following year. Would not recommend it.
Love the area--If I decided to live there would opt for house 1/4 mile from beach or so. They are quite modestly priced--

How many race horses you have now?
