What is the best GPS ??

Hi Gang,

In the market for a decent but inexpensive portable GPS system that I can take on my bike or in the car.

Anyone with input on a good one ??

I bought the Garmin (the best maker, apparently) 200...but then I read the above website, and they said, for $50.00 more, go with the Garmin 350, which has text to speech technology (Says the street names "turn right on Lincoln", not "turn right in 100 feet"

That is worth it in big cities, if you live in one.

not sure about on the bike but we have the garmin nuvi 350. We love it and referred it to 2 friends who also love it.

It lists for 500$ at places like bestbuy but we got it at buydig.com for like 360, free 2 day shipping. My 2 friends also got it from that site from my recommendation and were very pleased.

Garmin GPS units are by far the best ones on the market.

for around $230 you have touch screen interface, turn by turn maped directions, plus points of interests so you can find gas stations, hotels, and restaurants anywhere..and it gives you estimated time of arrival which adjusts with your speed.

I bought a TomTom ONE and love it...its been perfect $300

as for bike riding with it....I dunno about battery life.. I always have it plugged in

I second loudog's recommendation. I have owned the c330 for over a year now, and it has been great. I have seen it advertised (Best Buy) for $250. I would be shocked if you find a better unit for that price.
