ND debuts a 3-4 with a NG that weighs less than me (we're probably built a little differently, however) against the (or close) to the best Oline in the ACC. Zibby's gonna get sick of getting run on and cheat up by the second quarter and look really fast chasing guys on 60+ yard play action TDs.

It could get pretty ugly

The Ramblin' Wreck will be my top play for the week. I look for them to win SU by at least 2 scores. Teshard Choice should run wild on the slow, talent-deficient ND defense. Calvin Johnson is gone, but Tech returns a stable of talented and experienced receivers, and look for QB play to actually improve with the departure of the erratic Reggie Ball. Jon Tenuta will have this veteran defense ready to go, and Weiss just doesn't have the horses on offense this year to consistently move the ball on them. Jimmy Clausen will most likely get the start in what will be the first college game of his career. Ga. Tech should have defeated the Irish last year in Atlanta when ND was ranked #2. This year, they will have revenge on their mind. As always, ND is overvalued here. I'll take the field goal, but won't need it.

Teddy, you see this # going UP? Could be. Less than a FG would be short at South Bend.

Jury is still out on Bennett, don't you think? Hey, Calvin was once-in-a-lifetime. Of course, Bennett will surpass Ball's pass completion% by default.

Charlie Weis might be looking forward to this. Will be a good gauge of his coaching ability.

This matchup reminds me of when Wazzu went to South Bend for ND's opener in 2003. The Cougs completely outplayed ND but lost in OT.

Wazzu went on to be a top ten team and ND sucked hind tit all year.
