Contrast is good at 10k:1 but I would be concerned with only 2 hmdi hookups. You only have room for your hd-dvr and dvd player... if you have a gaming system you're screwed,

You can find better at better prices as well. I got the Hitachi Ultravision last year at 2200 and I believe its 1300 now... Side hdmi everything you could want but if you're buying now, why not go for the 1080 resolution for HD DVDs?

Plasma technology is good right now, and they seem to have improved the problems with rendering black. They still consume twice the power of the other tv technologies, so if a high electric bill is the issue, be warned. Also, they do generate lots of heat. The future is LCD, but plasma is good enough. I'd take the deal.

You're still in school so if I were you I would get a plasma best for your budget. Just make sure you never "tip" it over. I say this because odds are you're moving at least 3 more times in the coming few years and most warranty issues happen when in transport.

Go with the tv with the 10k:1 contrast and worry about the HD DVD player when its third generation... You're in school, so why another grand for a tv when you could live on that money and MEET A NEW GIRL :nono: instead of putting into a SLIGHTLY better TV...

500 would be one hell of a road trip with some buddies if I remember my college days correctly... college is for good times, you can buy shit when your 5 years out... LIVE the life bro.... days are numbered and then youre just another working guy...

go get laid already.

Well the whole reason for the TV is for having all these FPPs on Stars and not much to do with them rationally. Getting a sweet TV with all of the FPPs seems like by far the best Idea. It will make the apartment overall alot better and i'll enjoy sports and ps3 and such on it more, and obviously chicks will dig it. Theres no way I'd go out and blow 1.5k on a TV for no reason, but since I already have 1k towards it I figure why not? I have a steady income thru cashgames and I figure I should treat myself to something nice that will definetly be used a ton, I just can't seem to figure out what to get off that onecall.com site with the gift certificate.
