Quest for 10K

One of my best friends just bet me $10,000 that I can't hit 30 of my next 50 posts here. Not just baseball, all sports combined. You know me, of course I accepted the challenge! I'm going to limit my number of plays until this contest is over. Hopefully it will make me a better capper, and the members here will benefit simultaneously. Wish me luck fellas! Gonna' start with this one:

Not sure if this game will be played due to the weather, but if it is, I'll take one of the best pitchers in baseball (Young) over a struggling Maine any day of the week.

I do love Young. Padres dontscore for him but I think I will use the game in parlays anyway. Maine hasnt been sharp and I hope san diego bats dont fall dead again.

So is this guy monitoring your picks daily and just betting crazy amounts on you knowing you are going to kick ass and win over 60% of the bets, gladly paying 10,000 for the winners?

No, he is trying to prove a point. We had a long conversation this past weekend about the positives and negatives of posting picks. To make a long story short, he firmly believes that I can't hit 60% of my next 50 posts with the added pressure of posting them here for everyone to see. He thinks the combined pressure of posting and $10,000 will cause me to overanalyze my picks, attempt to be too perfect. He may be right, but I have never backed down from a bet in my life, and I'm not about to start now!

I'm glad to hear you're taking it to the man. Do you think you would've had the same success with $10,000 on the line? Would you have changed the way you cap games with the added pressure? Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Really confused here Wise so set me straight..Your buddy bets ya $10,000 ya can't pick 30 winners out of 50 plays...nothing is said about plus units in the wager so where is the added pressure..nobody has to play the selections you make and the plus or minus units isn't even a factor..
Case in point ..since the All Star break the Yanks are something like 12-3 at a betting price of -190 or more..The three loses could have been at -300 and it doesn't change a thing about the wager..You would still be 12-3..

Plus there is no sense in any other wager on your part because the +$10,000 is certainly incentive enough especially given the rules of the wager as you described..

Certainly folks here can cheer you on to the $10,000 and would surely do so given the nature of the wager..

NOW IF..you have to show + units at the end of the 50 wagers w/ a stipulation on the number of units per single play..that is a horse of a different color.

Enlighten me..I'm old and sometimes things just go straight over my head.

Yes, I must show a profit after 50 plays. He's a bright man. There is no way he would let me get off that easy! Sorry, I should've included this very important factor in my original post. Therefore, you won't see me post any heavy chalk plays. For record keeping purposes, each play will be based on $100. I will be risking $100 on each dog, and playing to win $100 on each favorite.
