Preseason Record: 5-3-2
Indianapolis Over 23.5
The Colts' preseason foibles have been well documented. They're 8-15 since coach Tony Dungy's arrival in 2002, and have lost 11 of their past 12. But in the more revealing third game, the Colts are 4-1 under Dungy. The Colts have scored 27, 24, 30, 28, and 19 points in those games. The offense looked better against Chicago, but left some points on the field after Addai failed to put the ball in following an interception that gave the Colts great field position.
"The other night, we had first downs, we had multiple plays in a drive and that's good. When they took us out, I felt we could continue to execute from that point on, and that's what we're going to try and do Saturday." Peyton Manning said.
Detroit may be without both John Kitna and Dan Orlovsky at QB tonight, leaving JT O'Sullivan to run the offense for the game.
Dallas -2.5
Dallas has been one of the most impressive teams of the preseason, winning both of their games and outscoring their opponents 54-30. Tony Romo has been nothing short of brilliant leading the offense to 30 points in just three quarters.
Houston has suffered from some of the same problems that plagued them last season defensively. They struggled to get off the field last season on 3rd downs, allowing opponents to convert 44.4%, 31st in the league. This preseason, they have picked up where they left off, allowing Arizona to convert 8/15 in the first extended action for the defense. Dallas should be able to take advantage of this as they were one of the league's best in this category during 2006 (48.9%, second only to Indianapolis at 56%).
Houston was able to move the ball at will against Arizona, but who hasn't?? Houston still has issues on the ofensive line, ranking in the bottom five for sacks allowed every year of their brief existence. Matt Schaub is still relatively inexperienced as a starter and Dallas should be able to get adequate pressure, much like they did against Jay Cutler and Denver last season.
