HOLLYWOOD star Owen Wilson has been rushed to hospital after cutting his wrists and taking a lot of pills during a suicide attempt at his Santa Monica house, according to the National Enquirer and Star Magazine.
The report claims that he was discovered by a family member who summoned help.

Police and an ambulance responded to a 911 call from Owen's house around noon on Sunday and witnesses claims that his wrist was sutured and bandaged at the hospital.

Gossip website TMZ released this statement from Santa Monica Police:

"On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12.10pm officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street.

The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated." TMZ has learned the 911 call came in at 11.59am to the L.A. Fire Department.

National Enquirer editor-in-chief David Perel tells gossip website PerezHilton.com:

?Owen Wilson has now been transferred from St. John?s to another Los Angeles area hospital. His brothers Andrew and Luke are with him.

?Andrew found him after the suicide attempt and called an ambulance. Both of Owen?s wrists were slashed superficially and Owen had taken an overdose of pills.

?Owen was found with a nearly empty bottle of pills next to him. He was at his house in Santa Monica.?

Wilson is in a stable condition.

Should have used a gun. That would have done it. I would never attempt suicide, no matter how tough things got.

A good buddy of mine just succeeded. Great guy. Unbelievable man. Here is his obit:

Jason Alan Brown
Jason Alan Brown, 33, residing in the Brookside area of Kansas City, Missouri, died suddenly in his home on August 23, 2007. A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS (913897-0120). Visitation will take place on Monday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the John Wesley Chapel at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. Leaving behind those who love and cherish his memory are his wife, Lynn Williamson Brown, and his beloved daughter, Marli Marie Brown, aged 18 months; his parents, Myron and Nancy Brown; brother Derek and his wife Gretchen; Lynn's parents, Bud and Susan Williamson; and sister-in-law Lisa Ives and her son Owen. Born on December 5, 1973, in Lake Forest, Illinois, Jason was a 1992 graduate of Blue Valley High School and received his BA and MBA from the University of Kansas. Jason had many aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives and literally hundreds of friends of all ages who will greatly miss his smile, sense of humor, and ways of showing his love for life, animals, and people of all ages. Full of love and sometimes larger than life, he loved and was loved by many people, who celebrate his short life and will grieve the loss by his physical and spiritual absence. But the memories and stories will continue for decades because all those who knew him loved him. Jason's passion, besides his family, was football. A member of the 1991 Blue Valley Tigers State Championship Team, he became a freshman starter at defensive end for the Kansas Jayhawks before his promising career was cut short by injuries. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any celebration gifts be made to the Jason Brown Memorial Fund, Blue Valley Recreation Commission (6545 W. 151st, Overland Park, KS 66223) to be used for a sculpture in his memory. Arrangements are by: the McGilley State Line Chapel, (816) 942-6180.

I guess he had been out of town on business for several days and returned home to a divorce decree. This just sucks. He was funny as hell- great guy to party with, great athlete etc. Hard to believe a guy like that would do that? I'm sure people are thinking the same about Owen Wilson- how bad off could he be?? You never know

i never miss a chance to take a pot shot at anything "hollywood",but, given the right circumstances,i`d guess there but for the grace of god go i....again,condolences...

but,i must say that i find it odd that wilson not only slit both wrists but attempted to o.d.`on pills....and failed at both....

i sometimes worry about my friend spongy.....then i remembered how he waffles in his handicapping....

if he decided to do himself in,i`m comfortable in the knowledge that the voices in his head could never come to a consensus....

who the hell is Owen Wilson

:s2:

was in Wedding Crashers with Vince Vaughn. Also is the voice of Lightning McQueen from Cars. Trademark is his crooked and apparently many times broken nose. I think his brother is also an actor.

Many times suicide attempts aren't successful because the person is partially doing it as a call for help.
