With some feedback from the board I dropped my two early leans and I'm going with these four.

1. Ga Tech +3.0

Just don't see how Notre Dame's offense can be as good as it was last year and Tech's defense should be just as good or better. So I'm basically going with defense here and the fact that the Irish will rarely receive a break from the man, especially at home.

2. Stanford +17.0

Just think Stanford will put up a good fight in this one...UCLA is good, no doubt, but just don't think they should be laying 17 to a conference opponent on the road...and this has been a homer series pretty much the last several years.

3. Army +5.0...Best Bet

When I first saw this game I liked it and I thought it was being played at Akron...When I saw that it was being played in Cleveland I liked it even more. Just believe Army has the better team and their not going to take anyone lightly.

4. Kansas St +13.0

Auburn is not supposed to be quite their 'normal' selves this year from what I've read (I'll believe it when I see it) and the Wildcats did upset Texas last year (even if they were at home) so they have got to have something. Besides that, 'name' SEC teams playing at home will usually always be overvalued I think...especially after all that back-patting that has gone on after last year.

Seems like I've been waiting 3 years for Thursday night...Bring it on!...and good luck for all of us this year! :00hour

Thanks Taoist...Army is supposed to have an unusually good sized (for them) defensive line...at least a couple of guys anyway...and I read somewhere that they were looking to this (first) game just as soon as they had lost to Navy last year...I actually feel (they feel) they have more to prove than Akron.

That was part of my reasoning with Stanford also bbk...I like having a new, hungry coach coming up from a lesser ranked division/conference wanting to turn things around and make a name for himself.

Hopefully they will both come thru...good luck this year guys.

Thanks AR...always check your picks...I'm going to be much more selective this year and not play so many plays...I will especially be taking it easy thru the 1st 3 or 4 weeks since I don't have any current years numbers to work with...I'm hoping to have a real good year...it's been a while. :SIB
