5. TEASER (6-1/2 pt) 2-team:
Southern California (-3) over NEBRASKA
Fresno State (+23) over OREGON
(4.00 units to win 3.30 units)
USC mentioned earlier in thread, but think about this....how many would the Trojans have beaten Wake Forest by? Certainly more than 3.
This will be Oregon's toughest challenge yet before the PAC-10 schedule begins. Last Saturday, FSU went into College Station and nearly upset Texas A&M, battling back from 19 at the break to lose in triple OT 47-45. This is the third straight season the Bulldogs have met the Ducks. Last season, Oregon won by 7 in Fresno.
Oregon has gotten a bit lucky with the early part of the non-conference schedule, but the Bulldogs are not going to go that quietly, not after nearly knocking off another nationally-ranked program. FSU will make a game of it.
6. Oklahoma State (-10) over TROY (2 units) (Friday)
OSU crushed Florida Atlantic without much effort last weekend at home, 42-6. The Trojans have given up 105 points in 2 games.
Sophomore QB Zac Robinson threw for a career high 250 yards and 3 TD's for the Pokes last Saturday. The OSU offense gained 488 yards last week with just 27 minutes of possession time.
Oklahoma State is far from one of the better teams in the Big-12 again this season, but there's no question the Cowboys have what it takes to cover against a Troy program that has shown signs of improvement in the early going but not ready to break through quite yet.
7. KENTUCKY (+6-1/2) over Louisville (3 units)
The Wildcats' focus will be on UL tailback Anthony Allen. The last 3 years, Louisville has killed UK by running down their throats with the football.
The matchup vs. Brohm will not be as critical as Kentucky struggles more with mobile quarterbacks.
The best formula to throw the UL offense off kilter is to get pressure on Brohm, either with sacks, pressures, or hitting him when he throws.
Commonwealth Stadium is sold out for this night game and will surely be rocking as Louisville finally faces a quality opponent. Take the points.
8. Florida State (-4-1/2) over COLORADO (2 units)
The Seminoles racked up 520 yards of total offense in a win over UAB last Saturday. Drew Weatherford thre for 332 yards and 3 TD's.
Colorado was held to a mere 204 yards in a loss to Arizona State last Saturday. The offense rushed for a dismal 39 yards on 27 carries and completed a horrendous 16-for-46 pass attempts.
FSU has the edge on defense and it should be able to force several turnovers from Colorado's young quarterback for the win and cover.
