So Cal
I do alot.
I do think B.Davis will have his team motivated,
but will it be enough? I don't think N.C has enough weapons to hang with Miami just yet.
throw out the OU game and Miami has looked like a very solid Def team to me.
N.C Off. is AVG at best.

Any thiought on this one?

Report Card: Miami v. Duke

Quarterbacks: B+

Kyle Wright didn't disappoint in the first half, in which he made solid decisions and no interceptions. In the third quarter, however, two interceptions ended that story. In all, he went 19 for 23, totaling 230 yards on the day. Luckily, when Kirby Freeman took the field to briefly relieve Wright, he primarily handed off the ball.

Running Backs: B+

The dynamic duo of Javarris James and Graig Cooper netted 57 and 101 yards, respectively. James didn't see the end zone this week and his longest rush was 16 yards. Cooper scored the lone rushing touchdown. Both showed strength, speed and the ability to block for one another.

RECEIVING CORPS: A-

The receiving corps is finally getting into the swing of things behind Wright's arm. The group completed 245 yards. Darnell Jenkins led with 72 yards. Kayne Farquharson made his first touchdown and had a standout game.

Offensive Line: B-

The O-Line allowed two sacks on Wright?AGAINST DUKE! They only allowed two sacks against Texas A&M. While this unit is undoubtedly better than last year, they can't play down to their opponent each week.

Defensive Line: B-

Calais Campbell and his intimidating frame led to eight tackles, 2.5 sacks for 18 yards and 3.5 tackles for 19 yards lost. Vegas Franklin was dominant with two sacks and two TFLs for 16 yards.

Linebackers: B

Tavares Gooden led this unit, and all defense, with 14 tackles. He also recovered a fumble for 19 yards in the fourth quarter that enabled a Cooper touchdown.

Secondary: C+

This group allowed several big Duke plays due to missed tackles. The Blue Devils shouldn't have gotten away with 302 yards in the Orange Bowl.

Special Teams: C

Francesco Zampogna may have missed a wide right field goal, but at least he didn't get sunburned! This unit has to improve and become more consistent.

Coaching: B-

Head Coach Randy Shannon didn't look too happy about the turnovers and big plays that were given up. The coaching staff will need to reiterate finishing games and not giving up in the third quarter. Hopefully in two weeks against GA Tech, we'll see the team that beat Texas A&M and not the team that struggled against Duke.

Shannon has 'Canes on a yellow alert

The momentum the Miami Hurricanes created after beating Texas A&M has evaporated.

Miami reverted to old form at times in a 24-14 victory against Dukeon Saturday. The Hurricanes failed to take advantage of scoring opportunities and the offensive line was plagued by penalties.

"We know now what we gotta work on," guard Derrick Morse said. "Luckily, we won."

After only having 20 penalty yards against then-20th-ranked Texas A&M, Miami had 74 against Duke, 50 coming on holding calls from four linemen.

"We did some great things [Saturday], it's just the penalties that killed us," Morse said. "We're not going to beat great teams, or any team, with those penalties.

"There's nothing really you can do except get on those guys and say you have to be accountable for yourself. As an offensive line, we can only control the five of us; we have to take it upon ourselves to say, 'Don't get any penalties. Do your job.'"

Coach Randy Shannon called the penalties "unacceptable." He has touted the offensive line as the team's strongest unit, but said he will use referees this week in practice with hopes of limiting the mistakes. Shannon did the same after the line struggled with false starts against Florida International and the problem was corrected.

"If guys get lax, three weeks back to back we keep making the same mistakes, then we're not getting better as a team," Shannon said.

Quarterback Kyle Wright, who threw for 230 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, admitted the team might have been riding the wave of last week's victory.

"As hard as it is to keep it out, it's only natural," Wright said. "Coach Shannon was like, 'You're going to believe me one day and [Saturday] was a good example."

The offense, which was so creative against Texas A&M, was more conservative.

Still, UM did gain a season-high 430 total yards. Running back Graig Cooper rushed for 101 yards, more than in his past two games combined. His fourth-quarter touchdown put an end to an offensive lull after the Hurricanes scored 10 points on their first two possessions.

"I think guys just got relaxed," Wright said. "We went out and scored on the first two drives, and I think we kind of got lulled to sleep and that's not something we can do in the ACC."

So Cal
I like South Carolina.
not too sure about the Kansas Vs Kansas St .
Kansas has played cupcake's so far.
KSU should of won @ Auburn and in Austin took
Texas to the woodshed. KSU may be a bit flat this week but are big game tested for sure.
LY KSU had 6 TO's which lead to 30 of the 39 pts scored for the Jayhawks. The home team is 4-0
since 2003.

I would lay the 3

GL this week
