We don't have anything Tuesday and just one game on Wednesday so it needs to be played.

Navy @ Pitt - Panthers have been getting nothing offensively, but are decent defensively. However, Pitt's recent losses raise a red flag IMO. Navy is a great rushing team offensively, but struggle defensively. Line still seems high until Pitt finds a QB. Both freshman have really struggled for the Panthers & combined for 3 TD's & 9 INT's. Pitt is just 2-6 ATS their last 8 games dating to last season while Navy has covered road games @ a 72% clip over their last 64 games. Midshipmen have the more established offense and are coming off a nice win vs. Air Force. I think they upset the Panthers on Wednesday night as well.

Navy +4.5 for 6.5*
Navy ML +175 for 3*

I would have played 1st half @ +3 or better, but both my books are offering 2.5 which I'll pass.

Pitt can stop the run and I think they will give an "A" effort for this game after getting embarassed their last outing at home. The extra week off will help as well. Does seem like Pitt should only be favored by 3 instead of 4.5 though. Can Pitt's D shut Navy down?

Pitt is not a well coached team and their only wins are against Eastern Michigan and Grambling State. Paul Johnshon's Midshipmen are well coached and have a solid running game. I would expect Navy to rush for 250 yards on Pitt and the team that rushes the ball better wins the game SU about 80% of the time. Navy has been to 4 straight bowl games as well and is used to winning while the Panthers haven't been to a bowl the past 2 seasons and right now are riding a 3 game losing streak in which they only played decent against Michigan State. Pitt isn't going bowling this season either.

Navy has traditionally been solid on the road as they went 7-1 ATS during 2005-2006 in true road games. I doubt a half-full Pitt stadium is going to intimidate them. I think Wannstedt could be fired and his team feels the pressure, but they sure aren't responding.

Pitt will probably only be favored against Syracuse in their remaining games & if they lose this game, they should finish 3-9 unless they pull an upset down the stretch. I think the more motivated Midshipmen who have a number of winnable games down the stretch will prevail Wednesday night.

Wanstash is one of my least favorite coaches. I'm not familiar w/either side for the most part, but just knowing "The Stache" is on Pitt's sideline running the show is enough for me to take the Middies in this degenerate gambler tilt.

I am on Pitt. Not sure if I am right, but I cannot bet on a team with a dogshit defense like Navy. Pitts may problems are on offense, and what better remedy than to play a team that gives up over 10 yards per play!!!!!! On defense, Pitt will hold its own. Small play of course.

I'll probably lay off, but if I was playing I'd follow some sage advice, just three little words:

FADE THE STACHE

Adding Navy 1st half +2.5 (-105) for 3* - Only game tonight so why not play the first half as well. Hopefully the Midshipmen jump on them early and I have a shot at a 2nd half middle.

Prediction:
Navy 31 Pitt 24

Adding Under 54 for 2* - Line has gone up 2 full points today. Not sure why the huge jump, but going against the public on this play.

Revised Final Score:
Navy 27 Pitt 24

Well, took home 12.55* overall and feel very lucky! Kind of like that night at the boats were you get hot late and walk out a big winner. Game was undecided the whole way, but Wannstach really screwed his team on the final play call.

IMO, look at fading Pitt the remainder of the year. They're staring 3-9 in the face & their defense really sucks.
