Does anyone get it? I did yesterday, and even though I am only 35, I do so because my wife has cancer and don't want to comprise her any especially since I work in a hospital too.

All I got to say is that I thought my nurse was Captain Chaos from Canonball Run, the size of the needle was about a foot. WTF? Kind of felt out there too when I was looked at like I was stealing from the place considering I was the youngest by about 30 years or so. Eerie to say the least. Arm and shoulder feels today like I was sparring for a whole day. Sheesh.

I'm 53 and have been getting one for about 10 years. My arm is sore for a few days too! I've only been really sick once since I've been getting them.

Haven't been sick since 1983. Tried a flu shot in '97 because it was free. Gave me the symptoms of a flu for a couple of days. Haven't had another shot since. I get a stuffy nose now and then, but nothing really serious. With all that said, I do believe certain individuals should have their annual flu shots.

This side of 70yo. Never had one, never had a flu, don't trust anything sponsored by the government except SS God bless em.
PS - Still scared shitless of needles of any kind. Got vaccinated in the 40's along with everybody else and for the last 5 years a thumb is growing out of the mark the vax left.

If you get the flu, it's far more than a cold. Most of the time when people say they have the flu, they don't. You don't want it.

I get one every year since it's highly recommended and close to being mandatory for my field.

I got one last night, and my arm really isn't even sore. I've given 10 to fellow employees also with no ill effects from any of them.

The needle should be at most 1 inch long. If she came at you with a huge needle, she did it wrong. Should be given in your deltoid muscle too unless you don't have enough muscle mass there.

Got the flu mist last year. It was a little more expensive than the regular shot. Inhale right nostril, inhale left nostril. No pain, my gain.

I am 5'10", weigh 202 lbs., can bench press or squat a smalll car, therefore there is enough muscle mass. The needle was at least 3-4 inches long, and was put in right above my left tricep. I still feel like I sparred about 10 rounds. Captain Chaos she must have been!

yes, but how big is your dik? :142smilie Wasn't trying to demean your physique in any way :142smilie just trying to give some nuts and bolts facts.

If she gave you a shot with a 3-4 inch needle, she must have been a sadist.

I don't believe in flu shots, personally. My brother is a surgeon @ NWstrn in Chicago- he is neutral on the issue- w/ our Grandma's etc.- (the males in our family are all dead- the Women are invincible.) The only reason you would even consider injecting yourself w/a virus is because you might DIE if you get a virus i.e you are old as Moses. To me, that makes no sense. Similar to recent research re: autism and vaccinations. I'll never buy into injecting a known bad deal into my body, but good luck to those who do.

In regards to the shot: I would be a little concerned if you are getting a "flu shot" w/a 4 in. needle. It should be a 1/2 in. @ best.

Maybe you were getting an intramuscular ANAVAR/WINSTROL shot? Now that would be a shot that may help you out

get one every year....haven`t had the flu since i started getting the shot.....

i think, with your wife`s issues(god bless her),you did what had to be done.....

i used to work 12-15 hours a day in my youth and i would become extremely run down...i got the flu pretty much every year.....every time i was laid up for 5 days to a week....haven`t gotten it since taking the shot...

anybody working around people....burning the candle at both ends.....being around the elderly, the infirm or the young, would be wise to partake.....

that`s just my opinion....

all the best to your wife,jr....she`ll win her battle,i`m sure...
