Ok, I'm gonna try to not sound like a homer even though both Loyola and Towson are local teams to me, but I went to Loyola so I have extra homer loyalty to them. But I'll try to give an impartial opinion on tonight's game.....even if it is one-sided lol
Towson beat Loyola by 8 last year, but they graduated the guy who scored 33 against them. Loyola has nearly everyone back (lost 2 points from the players who played against Towson last year), but they have a transfer guard (Joe Miles) from Marshall now eligible to play who is very solid - he could average 15 ppg with bunches of assists. Miles and Loyola superstar Gerald Brown (15th in the nation in scoring last year) were shooting 3s before last week's scrimmage against Villa Julie, and neither one missed much. 2 other guards who can shoot (one guy from local HS who shot something like 44% from 3 point land last year), and some decent big guys. In the scrimmage, Loyola beat Villa Julie 108-62. Cant remember the last time Loyola had enough talent to score 100 points against anyone. lol Picked 2nd in the MAAC, and it was only a couple of votes needed to bump them up to first. This could be a real solid team.
