Lots of games on tap today as teams (and us gamblers) look to start out the season right.

N. Mexico -1 - 2 Units - two experienced coaches going at it with new teams. However, they are in two completely different situations. Alford has some talent returning from last year's squad and word is they are taking to the new coach and a quick turnaround is expected for the Lobos. For Colorado, Bzdelik is a great coach but doesn't have the talent or players for his system yet. Rebuilding year will be mentioned often w/ the Buffs this year. I see the Lobo's picking up a gritty road win to start out the year.

Dartmouth +15.5 - 2 Units - Air Force just didn't lose Bzdelik this past season, as they lost 4 starters from last year's team that was successful in the NIT after collapsing at the end of the year to miss the NCAA's. Air Force's woes were evident in an exhibition loss to Brock University. Their trademark D wasn't there as Brock shot 44% from the field, 55% behind the arc and matched the Falcons on the boards.

Dartmouth was terrible last year due to numerous injuries. They will definitely be better this year and have some decent size. I feel they can keep it close on the road.

Other plays:

Loyola-Md -2.5 - 1 unit - agree with KotysDad's analysis and like going against Pat Kennedy in openers.

N. Ill +14 - 1 Unit - battle of the NIU's. Northern Iowa is a good squad and will control this one throughout, I just think 14 is a big number for them to cover. Difference will be whether the couple of JuCo transfers that Patton brought in can hang with the Panther's Coleman and Egleseder.

NMex/Col. Under 142.5 - 1 Unit - Altman stresses D and the Buffs not grasping Bzdelik's system yet leads to this game being in the 130's.

DePaul/Creighton Over 127 - 2 Units - DePaul is looking to play a more up-tempo game this year despite losing a lot of their scoring from last year to the draft. Creighton also lost many of the point providers from last year's team, however, they scored and shot well in their pre-season Canada trip.
